When Google’s Kirkland campus was set to dramatically expand, they needed a new wayfinding scheme for both Googlers and visitors. The desire was a design approach that was innovative in the way it reflects the company’s values and attitude.To that end, the design team discovered that Google’s founders are strong believers in the Montessori method of learning and working, which GALLERY ONE, CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART The Cleveland Museum of Art is midway through a $350 million expansion and, through a leadership grant from its board of directors, has been challenged to grow new audiences to engage with art and the museum.Local Projects (New York) was tasked with helping the museum engage visitors via technology, and created "Gallery One," a suite of new interactives that transform the artANDERSON KRYGIER

Carla Ramirez Sosa and Anna de Jonge of Mijksenaar will present on a particularly challenging topic: the role of wayfinding in the implementation of EXPERIMENTING WITH MICROSOFT MIXED REALITY IN MUSEUMS Experimenting with Microsoft Mixed Reality in Museums. The “La Belle” Gallery houses the once sunken hull of the expedition ship. The Hull serves as a focal point in the exhibit and acted as the physical base for the experience at the Texas State History Museum. Now open to the public Ford House has a brand new 40,000 square foot Visitor Center. The new facility accompanies the 1920s historic mansion and other buildings on the 87-acre estate. Full-service experience design agency, Luci Creative, led the interpretive planning and exhibit design for the project, in partnership with Richard Lewis Media Group. Other project partners and contributors included architect SmithGroup, general contractor Frank Rewold and Son Inc., custom fabricator Ravenswood Studio, Inc., and A/V specialist CreativeTechnology.
