SIGNS AND SYMBOLS. One of the ways in which owners, occupants and visitors to buildings sought to ward off evil was by carving protective symbols, as graffiti, into the structure’s fabric. It is a thriving Society with a membership of over 200, which has been meeting at the delightful East Dean & Friston Village Hall, located 4 miles west of Eastbourne. WELCOME TO THE ARTS SOCIETY TARPORLEY Tarporley and the surrounding towns and villages have an active and friendly society of around 300 members, meeting for lectures and study days at the Tarporley Community Centre on the afternoon of the 2nd Thursday monthly, excluding July and August.
