Even with the unprecedented global impacts brought on by COVID-19 in the past year, we have remained steadfast in our ambition to bring innovative and creative solutions to the table that enable us to sustainably feed the world for generations to come. OUR PATH TO NET ZERO BY 2050 1 day ago · At Tyson Foods, we are responsible for creating a sustainable food system to feed our growing world, and we’re excited to announce our plans to be net zero by 2050. SUPPLY CHAIN DISTRIBUTION NETWORK OF THE FUTURE These discussions around our poultry and prepared foods networks have led to Tyson Foods’ Distribution Network of the Future – the next step in revolutionizing the way we pack and ship products across the U.S. “We knew there was a better way to serve our customers,” Chief Supply Chain Officer Bernie Adcock said. COVID-19 UPDATE: PROTECTING OUR FRONTLINE WORKERS Carl McGrone walked into a Tyson Foods meat-processing facility in Iowa and was struck by how a hallway had transformed into a clinic.The usually sleepy room was buzzing with activity. Large tarps hung from clothing lines to form temporary examination rooms, and dozens of medical professionals mixed among his co-workers, the deep blue of their doctor’s scrubs nearly matching the CENTERING FOOD INNOVATION AROUND CONSUMERS It’s a restaurant providing gourmet food; an extension of the Research & Development (R&D) Center where our innovation teams work on new products; and a place for consumers to try a variety of recipes, cooking classes and events. With windows stretching from wall to wall and floor to ceiling, Sun House sees around 150 visitors a day. CELEBRATING MOTHER’S DAY WITH OUR WORKING MOMS I want other women to know that no matter what life throws at us as working moms – we can do both! Join me for the virtual Network of Executive Women event Mother’s Monday: We Move Forward Together on May 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., where we will discuss how workplaces can support working mothers so career and caregiving cancoexist.
NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH Miller: Protein is a nutrient found in many types of food. Some nutritious sources include: Meat and poultry. Eggs. Fish and seafood. Dairy. Legumes, including soy-based products. Nuts and seeds. Four to six ounces of lean beef, poultry or fish will deliver about 25 – 30g protein while eggs provide 6g of protein. REMEMBERING GEORGE FLOYD One year ago, George Floyd was murdered. This tragic event forced us to acknowledge the reality of racism in our country and its impacts. While last month’s guilty verdict against the police officer who killed Mr. Floyd brought a small measure of justice, tragically, there has been and continues to be violence and aggression against the Blackcommunity.
