This spirited fall recipe comes from founder of The Fort Sam’l P. Arnold’s grandmother, Gunny, and is inspired by her Pennsylvania Dutch roots. Follow the directions below to make this family recipe at home – once you’ve tried brandy in your pumpkin pie, you may never go back! Serves 4 to 6. One 9-in. pie shell. THE HISTORY OF THE FORT The Fort restaurant opened for business in February 1963. That same year, we adopted a Canadian black bear cub named “Sissy” who lived at The Fort for 19 years. She was my pet bear, and died of old age. There are many stories and photos of Sissy bear at the Fort. Today, our offices are on the upper level where we lived when I was a littlegirl.

TESORO CULTURAL CENTER Tesoro Cultural Center is located at The National Historic landmark called “The Fort” just south of Morrison, Colorado. It is the first authentic replica of Bent’s Old Fort, originally located near La Junta Colorado. Bent’s Old Fort was a strategic, private international trading fort located on the Arkansas River, which in the1830s was

The Fort is located just Southwest Denver, just 2 miles south of Morrison, Colorado, in “Red Rocks” Country. It’s a beautiful drive into our foothills, just off Highway 285 and Highway 8. The Fort is a full scale adobe replica of a famous 19th century fur trading fort. Our menu is inspired by the Trappers, traders and American Indian recipes of that era, and we’re known as “New Foods of the Old West”.
