CERRO GORDO
Cerro Gordo Mine is situated near the crest of the mountains looming over the Owens Valley. It is near Lone Pine yet access to Cerro Gordo is across Owens Lake at a spot where most are speeding by on their wayto Death Valley.
SANDSTONE TOADSTOOLS The Parma River basin is one of my favorite places to visit. It is a land of ever-changing color with layers upon layers of rainbow hues embedded in rock laid down as the plateau began to THE NATURE PHOTOGRAPHER On my way to cover the Alamo Fire, as I crested San Marcos Pass I could see another fire plume heading skyward right in front of me. It turned out to be a bit further up Hy 154 that it first appeared but as I got to the entrance to the Whittier and Circle VKOHTA CIRCUS
And there is was, the Kohta Circus. Nearby as well as one of the most prolific panels I’ve ever seen, about 8′ high at its max and 50-60 feet long, filled with an amazing assortment of animals, human and god-like figures, so many that it was difficult to take them all in at once.
