The New Art Gallery Walsall is delighted to present the Living Memory Project’s, The Black Country. This exhibition marks the culmination of a four-year engagement with residents of Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton in order to record, archive and celebrate everyday life stories and personal photographic collections. THE STAY AT HOME RESIDENCY SERIES: FAYE CLARIDGE The Stay at Home Residency seriesFaye Claridge. In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, The New Art Gallery Walsall initiated a series of remote residencies to support artists to produce work from their homes. The New Art Gallery Walsall is the home of the prestigious Garman Ryan Collection, gifted to the Borough of Walsall in 1973 by Lady Kathleen Epstein (nee Garman), widow of the great 20th century sculptor Jacob Epstein . The Garman family were originally from Wednesbury and, though Kathleen had spent her adult life inLondon, she

Understanding Art . Understanding Art is a five week course each spring. We create a theme that brings Collections and Exhibitions together over five Black Country and Birmingham galleries; The New Art Gallery Walsall, Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Ikon Gallery, The Barbers Institute of Fine Arts and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, with one session being held at each venue. DOROTHEA WIGHT AND MARC BALAKJIAN The New Art Gallery Walsall is proud to present together for the first time in a public institution the work of artists and printmakers Dorothea Wight and Marc Balakjian. The couple have won international print prizes for their work, and are particularly renowned for their skill in the medium of mezzotint. In 1968 Dorothea founded the Studio SUBMITTING AN EXHIBITION PROPOSAL Proposals can be submitted by email or post and should contain the following information: Name and contact details. The couple have won international print prizes for their work, and are particularly renowned for their skill in the medium of mezzotint. The exhibition comprises new and recent works, many of which can be seen for the first time in Walsall.
