I’m so glad you’ve found SIMPLE SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS FOR SPEECH THERAPY Give them some ice and watch students be super engaged in this simple, hands-on science experiment. Target vocabulary: scoop, dump, pour, splash, mix. Fizzy Ice. To make fizzy ice cubes, mix baking soda (1 cup) and water (½ cup). Pour into ice cube trays or small food containers and freeze. Prepare a small dish of vinegar. PLAY-BASED COMMUNICATION ASSESSMENTS The play-based team includes a psychologist, SLP, OT, intervention specialists, PT, and APE teacher. Two families are evaluated each week. The psychologist completes a home visit prior to the play-based session. SIMPLE SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS FOR SPEECH THERAPY Give them some ice and watch students be super engaged in this simple, hands-on science experiment. Target vocabulary: scoop, dump, pour, splash, mix. Fizzy Ice. To make fizzy ice cubes, mix baking soda (1 cup) and water (½ cup). Pour into ice cube trays or small food containers and freeze. Prepare a small dish of vinegar. PLAY-BASED COMMUNICATION ASSESSMENTS The play-based team includes a psychologist, SLP, OT, intervention specialists, PT, and APE teacher. Two families are evaluated each week. The psychologist completes a home visit prior to the play-based session. Last week I was sketching ideas on the back of an envelope in the middle of one of my social groups. It was a picture of a kid with a speech bubble. There were PLAY-BASED COMMUNICATION ASSESSMENTS Every Wednesday, I'm part of a team that completes preschool assessments. Whenever I post about the assessments on social media I get questions about assessments, ideas, timing, etc. Today, I'm starting to share those details! My only concern with the MS/HS version is that most of our middle school parents don’t allow the kids to use facebook/social media so doing an activity that mentions or teaches the use of facebook might not goover very well.

It is based on the assumption that language functioning cannot surpass cognitive levels. However, according to research, some language abilities may in fact surpasscognitive levels.

TWISTER - SPEECH ROOM NEWS Twister for artic/phonology students! We only used the colors on the spinner board for the first part. Each student chose a color and they needed to cover each of their dots. We spun our spinner board and each said the word multiple trials, before we covered the appropriate dot! It was ‘super fun’ as my little guys said. 3:1 FLEXIBLE SERVICE DELIVERY MODEL The 3:1 model can increase the classroom carryover in two ways. First, the SLP will be going into the classroom to target carryover and intervention directly. Second, the SLP will collaborate with the teacher to develop supports for each student in the classroom to increase carryover and generalization of skills.ARTICULATION BOX
