AN ATTEMPT TO COPY MCDONALD'S FRIED APPLE PIE So when my brother Jason texted me out of the blue just to ask if I ever considered making a copycat McDonald’s Apple Pie, I immediately understood. He probably happened upon a classmate eating one at school. He could’ve bought himself one from the many McDonald’s dotting the perimeter of his school, but he knew I would love the challenge of making a homemade version. 6 SPICY KOREAN INSTANT NOODLES TO TRY IF YOU LIKE SPICE IN Paldo Instant Rabokki Tteokbokki fans might be familiar with rabokki, which is basically a fusion of the words ramen and tteokbokki since the dish is basically tteokbokki base with noodles added into it. JAPANESE FOOD SOUVENIR HAUL FROM TOKYO SPRING 2019 Anyone who has ever gone on a trip to Japan with me knows that I always bring a luggage that’s twice as big as I actually need. Why? Because half of that is going to get filled with snack food souvenirs. I even bring a portable weighing scale just to make sure I don’t go over the weight limit lol. I can’t seem to stop myself from buying and trying Japanese snack foods. How they come up with all these creative and delicious things is beyond me. I’m not complainingthough!

SOME MEMORABLE TOKYO EATS FROM SPRING OF 2019 Anyone who has ever visited Japan will tell you that it is a haven for foodies. In fact, I am not sure I have ever eaten anything from this country I did not like. Even their convenience store food is good! (Possibly the best in the world alongside Taiwan.) During our visit to Tokyo, I didn’t get to hit up nearly as many of the food places I wanted to visit due to time constraint and them being out of the way, but I was still fairly happy with the places we did get to visit. Just thought I’d share them here!Continue reading

TOKYO SPRING 2019: MY FAVORITE TOKYO SNAPSHOTS, SAMPLE ITINERARY, &TRAVEL VIDEO
It’s funny how for a time in 2020 I was so un-energized to write about my 2019 travels despite having all the time in the world just staying at home during a lockdown. It just didn’t feel right or appropriate, so I put it off and put it off, and suddenly it’s 2021. Boy, did time just ZOOM PAST. At some point, I already accepted the fact that it will be quite some time before we can travel normally again, but then none of that actually means I have to lock all my past travels inside a box. Right?Continue reading

LIFE IN PIXELS
Interestingly enough, these MISO CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES don’t spread out too much due to the amount of flour used in the recipe. They stay pretty chunky, so visually they may not be the prettiest, but they are pretty addictive nonetheless. Tired of the same old macaroni salad? Here’s something you can try: MISO PEANUT MACARONI SALAD! Meet my new obsession! I never knew I needed “mochi” baked goods in my life until I made these Chocolate Mochi Brownies (adapted from @food52), and now I’m just hooked! Super chewy and bouncy and downright addictive to munch on! Paired them with a delicious HojichaHot Chocolate.
I don’t know if you’ll agree with me, but I think Blueberry Cheesecake tastes 100000x better when the blueberries are in the cheesecake rather than just on top. This Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake is proof! SERIOUSLY SO GOOD. Really wanted to try making my own Rice Burger for some reason. This Curry Chicken Katsu Rice Burger ended up kind of being a labor of love because of that lol. But it’s pretty good! We gobbled everything up! I don’t usually miss eating out anymore since I’ve gotten used to/accepted the idea that it’s just not safe at the moment. But sometimes when I look through old photos like these, I realize what I actually miss is the act of discovering what’s out there. This Hojicha Tea-ramisu is a very Japanese take on tiramisu! Layers of creamy mascarpone filling between spongey hojicha-soaked ladyfingers and chocolate ganache. SO GOOD! It’s eggless too, so it’s super easy. ENJOY! Recipe and full video in the link on my bio. Hiyashi Chuka is one of my favorite Japanese noodle dishes. Ever. So colorful, so simple, and just so tasty! Now I don’t have to miss ordering it from a restaurant anymore. You can top it with whatever you want because the dressing goes with everything! Check out my suggestion on the blog. Link is in my bio. #recipevideoIN SPACE
