SOMETARO - TRULY TOKYO Sometaro is an old-school okonomiyaki shack just a few minutes away from the main tourist area of Asakusa. Be warned: there’s no air-conditioning, so it gets super hot in the summer. GETTING AROUND TOKYO The Details. The best way to understand Tokyo is to think of it as several cities connected by a great public transport system. Each urban node like Shinjuku, Shibuya or Roppongi is like its own city. And if you jump on the subway or train, you can be in a completely different "city" in a few minutes. IMPERIAL PALACE AND MOAT Imperial Palace and moat The Imperial Palace is the heart and hub of Tokyo. The best way to experience this area is by visiting the Imperial Palace East Garden.T’S TANTAN
T’s Tantan’s original shop is in Jiyugaoka, and they expanded to Tokyo Station a few years ago - a smart move, since the station is a major hub for travellers. They specialize in variations of vegan tantanmen. Tantanmen, derived from the Chinese dandanmian, is a spicy minced meat noodle bowl with a GINZA SIX - TRULY TOKYO Opened in 2017, GINZA SIX is one of the newest additions to the main shopping avenue in Ginza. Thoroughly modern and sophisticated in design and curation, it’s filled with enough shopping, food and cultural entertainment options to keep you occupied for days.TOKYO FIRE MUSEUM
Throughout its existence, Edo (modern-day Tokyo), with its densely-clustered wooden buildings, tended to burn down very frequently. This is exactly what warrants an entire museum dedicated to the history and development of firefighting.HIDEMI SUGINO
Pastry chef Hidemi Sugino’s shop and cafe is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. His delicate mousse cakes will have any dessertlover swooning.
BEST TEPPANYAKI IN TOKYO Teppanyaki in Japan is a far cry from the Benihana experience that Western tourists might be more familiar with. Teppanyaki simply refers to food that’s been cooked on an iron griddle.YOYOGI-KOEN PARK
