UNDER THE RADAR MAGAZINE Studio: Passion River. Directed by James June Schneider and Paul Bishow. May 20, 2021 Cinema Web Exclusive. Punk the Capital tracks the rise of D.C’s best-known (and often short-lived) punk acts, its most essential venues, the founding of Dischord Records, and the beginnings of the straight-edge movement. More. ALL THE COLOURS OF YOU Overall, All the Colours of You is a super satisfying musical experience that solidifies an illustrious 35-year career, proving James have overcome a boring and unGoogleable name by being unpredictable, daring, and bold and making a distinctive brand of creative rock music with rich textures and shrewd melodies. ( www.wearejames.com) No ratings UNDER THE RADAR MAGAZINE Sep 04, 2020. Under the Radar is excited to announce the full details of our new print issue, which is out now nationwide (on newsstands, in such stores as Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million, and elsewhere) and available to buy directly from us here. The issue features Phoebe Bridgers and Moses Sumney on the two covers. Issue 67 was originally supposed to come out in late May/early June, but CLAYNE CRAWFORD ON 'LETHAL WEAPON' DEBACLE AND 'THE In The Killing of Two Lovers’ most intimately framed shots, audiences can’t see what is behind stars Clayne Crawford (of TV’s Rectify and Lethal Weapon) and Sepideh Moafi (The Deuce, The L Word: Generation Q) as they discuss their imploding marriage while driving in their stiflingly small Utah town. What viewers are left with: literally up-close performances, every nuance magnified. BLU-RAY REVIEW: F.T.A. This documentary about the tour, directed by Francine Parker, captures the trials and travails of the road (rejected Visas, pro-war audience agitators), but it also spends a lot of time showing the impacts of the war on those fighting it. The Hollywood Millionaire Leftist is an old trope by now, and Fonda is perhaps the godmother of them all. EX:RE (ELENA TONRA OF DAUGHTER) ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM Ex:Re (Elena Tonra of Daughter) has announced a new album, Ex:Re with 12 Ensemble, an orchestral reworking of her self-titled debut album in collaboration with English string orchestra 12 Ensemble and classical composer Josephine Stephenson. RANKED: OASIS’ DISCOGRAPHY INCLUSIVE OF STUDIO, LIVE AND COMPILATIONALBUMS
Apr 06, 2021
For years I have stood firm that Noel Gallagher didn’t have more than two substantial Oasis albums in him: _Definitely Maybe _and _(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?_. _The Masterplan_, a collection of B-sides and non-album singles would be the third, but Noel believed he had so many great songs, these could be relegated to the B-list. It’s a painful stretch to cobble together a fourth album from the odd song buried here and there in the remaining five studio albums and later B-sides the iconic group released before imploding in spectacular fashion. The visceral and unifying impact of the debut album and its quick and even more impactful follow-up made the predictability and uninspired subsequent albums all that much moredisappointing.
This is coming from someone who is a firm “stan.” Between _Definitely Maybe_ and _(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?_ I lost my sister. The Oasis songs on those albums, and their B-sides made me feel supercharged. Noel’s and Liam’s mouthy confidence and swagger-filled presence made them seem immortal—something that was very attractive to me at a time when mortality was all too real. While their presence grew larger than life, the music didn’t follow suit. Still, I clung to the one or two songs per album that didn’t suck and counted on the brothers for that immortality factor, knowing it would persist, even if the music did not. Here are the Oasis albums—studio, compilation and live—ranked in order of personal preference. Not included is the infamous interview “album,” which arguably could be considered an exceptional product from the two central figures of the band. _—Lily Moayeri_More lists :
