THE NEIGHBORHOOD GALA Thank you to everyone who attended and supported USES’s first-ever Virtual Neighborhood Gala on Thursday, May 20th! We are thrilled to share that we raised nearly $80,000 during the event, bringing our fundraising total to nearly $360,000, well-exceeding our original goal of $300,000. In addition to raising vital funds to sustain our mission, the event was a VISION125 & BUILDING A NEW HARRIET TUBMAN HOUSE: In the early 20th Century, responding to the discrimination the community, six black women from Boston opened the Harriet Tubman House at 37 Holyoke Street in the South End. A personal friend of Tubman, Julia O. Henson rented the Tubman House as a place of lodging for black women who had recently migrated from the South. Since then, I have held multiple leadership positions across the THE NEIGHBORHOOD GALA Thank you to everyone who attended and supported USES’s first-ever Virtual Neighborhood Gala on Thursday, May 20th! We are thrilled to share that we raised nearly $80,000 during the event, bringing our fundraising total to nearly $360,000, well-exceeding our original goal of $300,000. In addition to raising vital funds to sustain our mission, the event was a ALL-INCLUSIVE FAMILY CAMP WEEKEND AT CAMP HALE! We are excited to host Family Camp 2021 this summer and fall! USES Family Mobility Coaches have held Family Advocacy Check-Ins, where they helped parents file for unemployment and apply for benefits that can provide critical resources (e.g. mental health services, food programs, technology/wifi, etc.).USES | ABOUT US
