It is essentially the unofficial start to summer and the weather has finally given in to being consistently beautiful. This three-day weekend in Fort Collins is filled with thrilling activities and meaningful tributes to fallen heroes. We hope you enjoy this guide to 7 Memorial Day Activities in Fort Collins. TUBING THE POUDRE RIVER Probably my favorite Fort Collins past time has to be tubing the Poudre River. It has inspired me to stay here over the summer in the past and it is something I regret missing whenever I can't. The coolest thing about Fort Collins tubing is that it gives you options. SOAPSTONE PRAIRIE NATURAL AREA Soapstone Prairie Natural Area is an astonishing wide-open landscape spanning nearly 19,000 acres. It is home to miles-upon-miles of trails, extensive and diverse archaeological human history and rare plant and animal life. Soapstone truly is a place to behold. In 2004, the City of Fort Collins purchased Soapstone Prairie Natural Area with the goal of conserving one of the most beautiful and FORT COLLINS INSPIRED DISNEYLAND'S MAIN STREET U.S.A Goff, a Hollywood art director by trade, drew off his childhood memories of the buildings in Old Town Fort Collins when sketching up plans for Disneyland’s Main Street U.S.A. Buildings such as the aforementioned Firehouse Book Store, the Old Linden Hotel, the bank building and the city hall building, among others were used forinspiration.
