20 PINK PERENNIALS
This new genus for the Proven Winners perennial collection is appropriately named 'Miss Piggy'! In early spring, a stunning display of bright pink flowers top the thick, dark green, glossy leaves. Compared to 'Sakura', 'Miss Piggy' has more consistent pink flower color, a larger canopy of foliage, and broader, more substantialleaves.
HEMEROCALLIS 'STELLA SUPREME' Common Name: Daylily. This daylily is similar in blooming behavior as the ever-popular ‘Stella de Oro’, but differs in terms of flower color and flower shape. ‘Stella Supreme’ has lemon yellow flowers, similar in color to ‘Big Time Happy’, but with a smaller sized flower. The triangular-shaped flowers have a SALVIA 'MOULIN ROUGE' PP32387 All of the varieties in this collection are Salvia pratensis hybrids, so you know you can expect excellent garden performance. 'Moulin Rouge' has incredibly dark, deep rose buds burst open to huge, rosy pink flowers. The deepest shade of pink in the collection to date. Salvia is a staple for every sunny garden. CLEMATIS 'RAIN DANCE' PPAF Incredibly large (2½-3"), outward facing indigo blue flowers with darker midribs and lighter margins. Although this is a non-vining Clematis, the plant will benefit from support, either from staking, a garden obelisk, or from neighboring plants. These varieties bloom first on new growth beginning in midsummer, and then again on newshoots in
MONARDA 'BERRY TAFFY' PPAF Monarda is native to eastern North America, so it is easy to grow and it multiplies quickly. The flowers' sweet nectar attracts scores of hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees to the garden. The aromatic foliage smells like mint when crushed and is often used to flavor teas. *The SUGAR BUZZ® Series trademark is owned by Walters Gardens,Inc.
HIBISCUS 'SUMMER IN PARADISE' PP28730 Common Name: Rose Mallow. There’s no sight quite like a Hardy Hibiscus blooming in late summer, and ‘Summer in Paradise’ truly delivers with its refined habit and attractive, large flowers and floriferous performance. THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO GROWING PERENNIALS IN CONTAINERS When watering, it is beneficial to let approximately 10% of the water flush through the pot after the plant has had a good drink. This helps to dissolve and wash away any build up of salts in the soil, a common problem in containers. Too much salt in SEDUM 'BOOGIE WOOGIE' PP31767 CPBRAF A fantastic summer-flowering groundcover type that will definitely make your garden feel groovy. This sport of 'Little Miss Sunshine' has cream margins that make the plant look bright and yellow over and are sprinkled with yellow flowers during early to midsummer. SPIGELIA MARILANDICA 'LITTLE REDHEAD' Spigelia will grow well in either sun or partial shade in the landscape in Michigan, although it is a bit quicker to bulk up in full sun. Spigelia do best when grown cooler, and cooler temperatures (55-60F) will result in less stretch and also help the root system to maintain equal growth with the top. According to the breeder, this is the brightest yellow flower with a large blotch available as a seed strain. This beautiful, heat-tolerant plant will finish quickly to form a well-branched and floriferoushabit.
TIARELLA 'FINGERPAINT' PP28012 Tiarellas are light to moderate feeders, requiring only modest fertility levels. Fertilize at a rate of 75-100 ppm. Reduce this rate to 50 ppm or zero after flowering. If a heavy flowering plant is desired in the spring it is best to plant in late summer and allow plants to go dormant for the winter months.Skip to Content
