WAVE Office in Inspirational Women June 3, 2021 Inspiring Thursday: Tawakkol Karman Tawakkul Karman, is a Yemeni women’s rights activist who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011 for her role in leading a pro-democracy protest movement, becoming the first Yemeni, the first Arab woman and the second Muslim woman to win a Nobel Prize. TRAINING TO IDENTIFY AND SUPPORT OLDER VICTIMS OF ABUSE Elderly people are exposed to neglect, physical, sexual, psychological, and financial abuse. All these forms of abuse can be perpetrated by spouse/partner, adult children, grandchildren, other relatives or care takers. WAVE COUNTRY REPORT 2019 The WAVE Country Report 2019 has been published! The purpose of the Report is to provide information and statistical data on the situation of European women’s specialist support services in four key areas: women’s shelters, national women’s helplines, centres and specialist services for survivors of sexualised violence. TRAINING TO IDENTIFY AND SUPPORT OLDER VICTIMS OF ABUSE Elderly people are exposed to neglect, physical, sexual, psychological, and financial abuse. All these forms of abuse can be perpetrated by spouse/partner, adult children, grandchildren, other relatives or care takers.
