WHAT IS ECO-LAWN?
Introduced to the market in 1998, Eco-Lawn is a proprietary blend of fine fescue grasses that produce a healthy thick green lawn with minimal care. The varieties of fine fescue selected for Eco-Lawn have specific qualities that make them ideal for a low maintenance turf:SEPTIC BED MIX
Septic Bed Mix. Description. Yes! You can grow flowers in the sand and gravel used to fill your septic bed without adding topsoil! We have selected the toughest native plants in nature to match these tough growing conditions! Many studies have shown that the roots of these wildflowers do not interfere with septic systems pipes. DESIGNING YOUR MEADOW Design with Maintenance in Mind. Whether your long-term plan for your meadow's maintenance involves mowing or controlled burns, the time to plan for this maintenance is now - before you sow the seed. We recommend using our low maintenance Eco-Lawn grass seed to create pathways that divide your meadow into two or three "management units". WOODLAND EDGE PART SHADE MIX Perfect for forest edges and areas that only receive a few hours of sunlight each day, the wildflowers and native grasses in this mix have the ability to grow well in partly shaded conditions while providing you with a spectacular show of blooms throughout the season! For step-by-step instructions see our How to Grow a Meadow informationpages.
SEEDING LARGE MEADOWS Basically TerraSeeding is the calibrated incorporation of seed into composted soil during the application process. Simply put, it is seeding with soil. This method of sowing wildflower meadows has been quite successful, however as wildflower seed needs firm seed-to-soil contact it is important to roll sites sown by TerraSeeding. Mulching. SEED MIXES - WILDFLOWER FARM To start, grab a shovel and head out to your future meadow site. Dig a small hole and grab a handful of the earth. Squeeze your handful tightly and then open your hand. If the soil falls apart quickly, you've got sand. If it stays together in a ball, you've got clay. Ifit feels soft
