HANDS-ON WITH THE NEW SEIKO LAND TORTOISE The Land Tortoise is powered by the 4R35, which has a roughly 41 hour power reserve and is rated at +45 / -35 seconds per day. The date is at the 4:30, which is in line with other new Seikos we’ve seen this year and is a change I’m fully on board with. The dial, at ROLEX 2021 EXPLORER 1 April 7, 2021. 158. 2. Rolex announced their 2021 models online this year, instead of at an event like Baselworld. The big news is, the Rolex Explorer 1, which has been 39mm since about 2005, is now available again in its original 36mm size. The Explorer has been around a long time, in many incarnations. When it updated to 39mm forthe second
INTRODUCING THE TIMEX Q 1978 Well, you’ll find the Timex Q 1978 over on the Timex site for just $179 on a leather strap. Comes in black, but I could easily see a brown – or even more colorful option – slipping into those 20mm lugs given the overall coloration of the watch. While 1978 is a lot longer ago than it seems it should have been, Timex is helping us takethat
LIGHTING UP THE NIGHT WITH THE ISOBRITE AFTERBURNER 1. Taking inspiration of the incredible power of the twin afterburners of the F-22 Raptor that light up the night sky, Isobrite has released the Isobrite Afterburner, a line of limited edition T100 Tritium watches that will also light up the night. They were kind enough to send me a couple versions of the Isobrite Afterburner and I like whatI see.
IN REVIEW: AGELOCER MOONPHASE A bit of a shame the moonphase is on a 31-day cycle, but balanced against the overall packaging and the fact you’ve got an 80-hour power reserve, there’s a very lot to like with the Agelocer Moonphase. As I mentioned at the outset, there campaign is funded, and it’s still going until April 29th. There’s still an earlybird slotat $599
INTRODUCING THE TRIWA OCEAN PLASTIC SUB Powered by a Miyota quartz movement, the Triwa Ocean Plastic Sub should be a no-fuss bit of accuracy that you can set and forget. In many, many ways, I think it’s a perfect summertime watch. Decent sizing, easy-to-read dial, a WR rating that keeps up with you, and a lightweight chassis. And, of course, you’re helping to get plasticout of

It fits on the wrist well, and doesn’t stand off too much, helped by the sub-12mm thickness that they managed to get on the watch. All in all, there’s a lot to like here if this is a style that submerges yourdive.

INTRODUCING: CHRISTOPER WARD C60 #TIDE STRAP Everyone get on board the ocean plastic train, because this one is chugging right along. Earlier today, we saw a new Shinola model using ocean plastic from #tide, and we’ve also talked about Triwa’s efforts with the same material. While Christopher Ward works in steel-cased watches, they offer textile straps – including one made with recycled ocean plastic. JUST RELEASED: SWATCH BIOCERAMIC At first glance, the Swatch BioCeramic looks rather familiar, as it’s based on the Big Bold 47. Rather than just a straight plastic case, however, they’ve gone with a new material that’s 2/3rds ceramic and 1/3 bioplastic, plus a good dose of pigment (showing up in 5 distinct colors). This should give the watches a decidedly differentfeel
