SAFE DELIVERIES ROADMAP COVID-19 Resources: CLICK HERE The Safe Deliveries Roadmap© Learning Collaborative Through the Safe Deliveries Roadmap initiative, the Washington State Hospital Association and our partners aim to improve birthing person and infant outcomes by establishing and promoting best practices for care. Our current projects reflect the needs and interests of our member hospitals, clinicians and NURSE AND HOSPITAL STAFFING A Comprehensive Approach to Implementation and Achieving Safe, Reliable and Effective Care Washington’s legislature enacted new legislation in 2017 and 2019 impacting hospital nurse staffing and staffing for certain technicians and technologists. House Bill 1155 – enacted in 2019 – makes changes to meal and rest break requirements and the use of overtime and on-call. MEDICAID QUALITY INCENTIVE Hospitals in Washington State have the opportunity to earn a one percent incentive payment under the Medicaid Quality Incentive Program. The incentive is included in the legislation creating the new Safety Net Assessment program. The payment is funded in part from the hospitals contribution to the Safety Net Assessment and federal matching dollars. Getting Started SAFETY & QUALITY LEADERSHIP SUMMIT David Marx is a true pioneer in the internationally recognized safety practice of Just Culture. He draws on experience that spans more than two decades of examining laws, regulations, and industry practices to help lawmakers, regulatory authorities, and organizational leaders NORTHWEST SAFETY AND QUALITY PARTNERSHIP The Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (OAHHS) and the Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) have combined their respective quality and safety work into a single program, the Northwest Safety and Quality Partnership, which serves hospitals in both Oregon and Washington. Patients and hospital systems in the Pacific Northwest increasingly cross state lines. Washington TELEMEDICINE TRAINING STANDARDS AND CREDENTIALING This bulletin is to inform hospitals and health systems about Senate Bill 5386, relating to telemedicine training and Senate Bill 5387, relating to telemedicine credentialing.
