To get there, turn at the stop light in the center of town. You will see an Acme grocery store. Follow it down a bit and we will see a sign for the park on the right. STAND UP TO BULLIES
Editor's note: It's hard not to agree with the Mid-Hudson Valley Community Profiles project's assessment that targeted bullying can have a negative impact on a student's self-esteem along with the ability to concentrate and learn. Or that bullying has a ripple effect, where non-bullied kids in proximity of incidents involving bullying others become afraid or insecure. BOWER PARK, PLEASANT VALLEY NEW YORK Bower Park in Pleasant Valley is a small hidden gem. To get there, turn at the stop light in the center of town. You will see an Acme grocery store. Follow it down a bit and we will see a sign for the park on the right. Make an immediate left into park and go down the dirt road until you arrive at parking lot. The playground is trainthemed.
BEACH GETAWAY IN MYSTIC Let's first talk about Mystic beaches! Our favorite, a few minutes away in New London, is known as Ocean Beach Park. This 50 acre park is home to a beautiful Atlantic beach, swimming pool, miniature golf, 1/2 mile boardwalk, amusement park, playground and spray park. There are also public bathrooms, locker rooms and plenty of places to grab a CHILD BEHAVIOR: PEER REJECTION, AND HOW YOU CAN HELP YOUR The single most cited behavior that creates peer rejection is aggression. There are many ways of handling aggression in childhood. Just teaching a child the basic etiquette of starting and maintaining a conversation and teaching listening skills has shown to be helpful.
