Throwback to the New York Premiere of George Lewis' _Soundlines_ at Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Photo by DigitICE Media Team. Our mission — to amplify, empower, and support creators and performers, with whom we seek to revolutionize how music is made and experienced — remains our guidestar during this incredibly difficult and overwhelming time. Every artist deserves open, respectful communication and we have been working tirelessly to keep those lines of communication open throughout this crisis. Thanks to the empathy and bravery of many of our presenting partners and funders, the tireless work of our incredible staff at ICE, and through our wonderful Board of Directors, institutional funders, and donors, WE ARE ABLE TO COMMIT TO PAYING A PORTION OF EACH CONTRACT TO ALL OUR ARTISTS for performances that were canceled or postponed through the end of April. THANK YOU Opera Omaha, Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College, The New School’s College of Performing Arts, MATA, Théâtre du Châtelet, our friends in Bergen, Norway, Nokia Bell Labs Experiments in Art and Technology, and our institutional partners The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Jerome Foundation, Howard Gilman Foundation, The Paul. M. Angell Family Foundation, Aaron Copland Fund for Music, New York State Council on the Arts, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Illinois Arts Council Agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts. And thank you to every single donor, at every level. _You_ have made it possible for us to take care of our artists in this unprecedentedand scary time.
We’re preparing to shift to the robust digital platforms we’ve developed over the past 8 years on DIGITICE , where the virtual space will be our main stage to develop and share new works by living composers until we can return to the live stage. We also plan to explore how DigitICE can be a resource to others in the new music community seeking a high-quality digital experience for sharing music. We know that artist compensation isn’t the reality everywhere, and that there isn't consistency around how freelance artists are getting compensated for cancelations. As the new music community navigates new realities, WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US IN OUR VIRTUAL TOWN HALL MEETINGS. Click herefor more
