Stitching on a Whim. Every once in a while, you come across something refreshingly different and original. And that is just the case with the embroidery work of Japanese artist Kimika Hara. Residing in historic Kyoto, Kimika describes her embroidery as free stitching. As well as working with 25-weight stranded embroidery thread, Kimika alsoSTORAGE SOLUTIONS
Storage Solutions. Let’s face it – we love our craft supply stash! But it can be frustrating when you want to make something and just can’t find what you want, or you have to move mountains of boxes to find things. Large crates filled with loads of stuff just don’t work. So a system with drawers of varying sizes, where you can see MAKE YOUR OWN FRINGE TRIM The most common way of adding a fringe to a knitted project is to apply yarn with a crochet hook. Wind the yarn around a rectangle of cardboard, book or DVD cover, and then cut along one side of the wound yarn with scissors. This gives multiple equal lengths of yarn. Have these lengths twice the fringe length desired plus another 5cm for theknot.
NIFTY NOTIONS: WHY A FUSIBLE THREAD? Sew a wide zig-zag down either side of the zipper tape with Fusible Thread on the same side as the zipper pull. Baste seam of garment or project where zipper is to be placed. Place zipper on ironing board with zipper pull facing up. Position garment, with right side facing up, centring zipper underneath into desired position. CROCHET A CAT'S CAVE Entrance size: 15cm wide x 11cm high. The size of the cat cave can differ slightly depending on the thickness of the yarn. The stitches used are chain stitch, double crochet and double crochet (UK crochet terms). Mark the first stitch of each round with a piece of yarn in a different colour. This will help you to keep track of rounds andstitches.

Decide how wide your bias strip needs to be. The strips should be wide enough to wrap around the cord plus twice the seam allowance. So if you have piping cord that is 1cm circumference and your seam allowance is 1.5cm, then your width needs to be: 1cm + (2 x 1.5cm) = 4cm wide. MAKE THESE EASY FELT BROOCHES Cut another 4cm-diameter circle and stitch onto the medium one using running stitch. Complete with a few straight stitches from the centre. Stitch seed beads to highlight the stitches. Add a few colonial knot stitches in the centre. RECTANGULAR BROOCH WITH FLOWERS: Cut felt rectangles: 5.5 x 4cm, 4.5 x 3.5cm and 4 x 3cm. But it can be frustrating when you want to make something and just can’t find what you want, or you have to move mountains of boxes to find things. Large crates filled with loads of stuff just don’t work. So a system with drawers of varying sizes, where you can see NIFTY NOTIONS: WHY A FUSIBLE THREAD? Sew a wide zig-zag down either side of the zipper tape with Fusible Thread on the same side as the zipper pull. Baste seam of garment or project where zipper is to be placed. SO, YOU WANT TO BE A QUILTER! Cut two or more different fabrics into squares of any size you wish. Eg. with two colours, cut into 4 ½” strips and then crosscut the strips into 4 ½” squares. This will make a 12” 9 patch block with a ¼” seam allowance all around, so your block will actually measure 12 ½” before being joined to another block of the same size. SO, YOU WANT TO BE A QUILTER! Cut two or more different fabrics into squares of any size you wish. Eg. with two colours, cut into 4 ½” strips and then crosscut the strips into 4 ½” squares. This will make a 12” 9 patch block with a ¼” seam allowance all around, so your block will actually measure 12 ½” before being joined to another block of the same size. CROCHET A CAT'S CAVE Entrance size: 15cm wide x 11cm high. The size of the cat cave can differ slightly depending on the thickness of the yarn. The stitches used are chain stitch, double crochet and double crochet (UK crochet terms). Mark the first stitch of each round with a piece of yarn in a different colour. This will help you to keep track of rounds andstitches.

MAKE YOUR OWN FRINGE TRIM Fringing is not only a trim for scarves, ponchos, rugs and blankets, but also for fashion accessories, clothing, bags and pillows.. The most common way of adding a fringe to a knitted project is to apply yarn with a crochet hook. Wind the yarn around a rectangle of cardboard, book or DVD cover, and then cut along one side of the woundyarn with scissors.

Witnessing the river life from sunrise to sunset, including the bathing rituals, cremations and religious ceremonies was nothing shortof incredible.

Plastic bags are collected, washed and cut into strips. Then the strips are crocheted into shopping bags, floor rugs, baskets and mats.
