ABOUT - INTERNATIONAL PHYSICIANS FOR THE PREVENTION OF IPPNW is the only international medical organization dedicated to the abolition of nuclear weapons. Medical Peace Work course takers can learn about topics such as how war and human rights violations affect health, how to speak out for the prevention of violence and promotion of peace, and the health effects of climate change and nuclear weapons. IPPNW is working to develop field projects as a follow-on to the course taking. WORLD CONGRESS POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC The 23rd IPPNW World Congress in Mombasa has been temporarily postponed due to the Coronavirus public health crisis and its impact on global travel restrictions. The International Organizing Committee and the IPPNW Executive Committee will set new dates for the Congress as soon as possible, given the extent and uncertainty of the current situation. A final decision on the parallel uranium conference in Mombasa is yet to be made. We will keep you updated about new dates and other practical arrangements.
