COMMUNITY & INITIATIVES Community & Initiatives ISPP’s Strategic Plan 2020-2024 includes significant commitments under the themes of Learning, Community, Environment and Well-being. Enshrining these themes in the school’s planning builds on many years of fostering a strong relationship with our host country. Our innovative scholarship programme, which is providing students from the most disadvantaged backgrounds SERVICE LEARNING BROCHURE SERVICE LEARNING BROCHURE Service at ISPP Secondary School Projects 2019-20 Through service initiatives, International School of Phnom Penh aims to develop caring, principled and responsible global citizens. Service projects at ISPP build relationships between the school community and local communities in need. By engaging in active service our students are empowered to become informedCALENDAR | ISPP
Calendar The ISPP school year runs from August to June. There are 180 instructional days each year. Our school holidays are generally observed around Cambodian festival dates, a mid-year (Winter) break of three weeks in December/January, and the longer Summer break starts in early June. The online school calendar is above, and is the most SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME In 2018-19, for the first time, we welcomed six new students to our Secondary school whose backgrounds are vastly different to any of our other students. Their families are amongst the poorest in Cambodia and, until joining us, they attended public school in Phnom Penh’s Steung Meanchey district. Extra support for thesechildren

Dany, Soriya and Kalyane are Cambodian sisters by adoption. They attended ISPP between 1996 and 2001 when they left aged 10, 7 and 3. Dany attended from 1996; Soriya from 1997 and Kalyane from 1999. Before attending ISPP, Dany and Soriya were living in Thailand where Dany first started a Thai school at the age of two. PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMME Primary Years Programme The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is the official curriculum framework and teaching methodology of the International Baccalaureate (IB), developed to meet the needs of children in the primary years of schooling. The purpose of the ASP is recreational not competition, and designed to keep the attention and the interest of the students. GRADE LEVEL PLACEMENT Grade Level Placement At ISPP, we recognise the importance of children being surrounded by peers of the same age and consider their developmental stages and socialisation as important to their holistic education as academic results. Admission to ISPP requires that students attain the minimum age requirements as stated below.
