LPTHW - EXERCISE 14: PROMPTING AND PASSING LPTHW - Exercise 14. Not much to say about this one. We've done this stuff lots of times. I guess the only slightly different thing is creating a variable for what we're going to put inside the input() function.. There are a couple things required to do in the study drills that change the initial script, so you'll see mine below doesn't specifically match the one on the lesson plan. LPTHW - EXERCISE 6: STRINGS TEXT LPTHW - Exercise 6. More working with strings and text in this exercise. Having looked into string formatting in the last exercise I realised that I was looking into something quite a bit further on in the course than I needed to right now. x = "There are {!a} types of people." .format ( 10 ) binary = "binary" do_not = "don't" y = f"Those who
LPTHW - EXERCISE 20: FUNCTIONS AND FILES LPTHW - Exercise 20. More functions this time but here the focus seems to be on being able to follow the 'flow' of multiple functions, not ones that pass data from one to another but just being able to read and follow how a script with multiple functions works LPTHW - EXERCISE 21: FUNCTIONS CAN RETURN SOMETHING LPTHW Exercise 21 - The formula for the functions. The forumla I worked out is, following the steps above: 35 + (74 - (180 * (50 / 2))) = -4391. You could also write this as: 35 + 74 - 180 * 50 / 2 = -4391. Using the second method without parenthesis relies on the Order of Operations but we should be familiar with that from Exercise 3. WHAT DID MARGARET THATCHER DO WRONG I couldn't even hope to cover all the reasons why people don't hate her, and there are seemingly considerably fewer of those! What I can do though is highlight some of the main reasons why Thatcher was hated, so below I've selected the ten main reasons most often cited. These 10 reasons go a long way to explaining the strength of feelingher

LPTHW - Exercise 10. I'm not sure exactly where, probably when butchering a Regex command, but I'd already encountered escape characters prior to the last exercise. It's obviously a very useful thing to learn, but coming back to it now I can't imagine not knowing what they are, how to look them up, and ultimately how to use them. LPTHW - EXERCISE 19: FUNCTIONS AND VARIABLES LPTHW - Exercise 19. When I first read through this lesson it seemed like a breeze, and it was, until I got to the study drills. There's nothing in the script itself that's tricky, it's mostly just a refresh of the last lesson and confirms you can write out the functionscorrectly.

The Odin Project - HTML5 basics. Here are a collection of questions from the Basic HTML Page Structure section of the HTML5 and CSS3 course on from The Odin Project. Each section will have a different page, but all lessons within a section will be grouped together. LPTHW - EXERCISE 18: NAMES, VARIABLES, CODE, FUNCTIONS Firstly *args isn't really the thing that's important, it's simply the asterisk bit. You could use *var instead if you wanted, but it's convention to use *args. Secondly, *args (or the asterisc at least) allows you to pass a variable number of arguments to a function. You might not know how many arguments you need to pass to a function, sothis

LPTHW - EXERCISE 5: MORE VARIABLES PRINTING LPTHW - Exercise 5. Exercise 5 takes us back over variables and printing. It also introduces us to 'format strings'. One key thing to understand about Python is that there seems to have been a bit of a 'mess' around handling strings. This course exploits the behaviour available in Python 3.6 and above. JAVASCRIPT AND JQUERY I'm finding the Odin Project isn't really that easy to blog your way through like you can with LPTHW, but this project seemed like a great one to share..
