JUDSON COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES VOTE TO CLOSE 183-YEAR In a “heartbreaking” decision today, the Judson College Board of Trustees voted to close the 183-year-old institution. The Judson China Committee was established in 1941 when the Marion Alumnae Chapter adopted a project of selling Wedgwood commemorative china featuring scenes of Judson. This project became a part of the Judson College Alumnae Association in 1964. The current pattern of Judson china is Old English Staffordshire Ware, as Wedgwood no longer manufactures commemorative EQUESTRIAN | JUDSON COLLEGE Equestrian “Being a member of the varsity equestrian team was a fun thing for me, but the discipline, organization, adaptability, and ability to think on my feet that I acquired in Judson’s equine program prepared me for the professional world.” -Lauren ‘08SHANNON W. On March 3, 2021, the Judson College trustees announced an aggressive 30-day fundraising campaign to raise $5 million in unrestricted commitments by April 2. The Judson China Committee was established in 1941 when the Marion Alumnae Chapter adopted a project of selling Wedgwood commemorative china featuring scenes of Judson. This project became a part of the Judson College Alumnae Association in 1964. Judson would be a much duller place without her traditions. Some are large, public traditions, like Rose Sunday and Hockey Day. Others are smaller and quieter, and these come and go with time. For instance, according to one alum, during the singing of “There’ll Always Be a Judson,” her class used to ACADEMICS | JUDSON COLLEGE Judson offers 20 academic majors, 22 minors, 10 pre-professional programs, and an Associate’s Degree in a supportive campus environment that ranked in the top 10% in a recent National Survey of Student Engagement.
