The next step in the process would be to figure out the mechanism of disease — why do physicians experience such high rates of burnout? COVID-19 AND THE USE OF OUTPATIENT STEROIDS The answer is likely “yes,” avoid the use of outpatient steroids. The risk factors for a poor outcome with COVID-19 include age over 65, obesity, diabetes, and a compromised immune system.
