Good morning friends ☀️ I just wanted to share a super easy and quick breakfast idea!! Aaron said he’s been wanting to try kodiakcakes so yesterday we bought this dark chocolate flapjack & waffle power cakes that have 14 grams of protein! You just mix one cup of water to one cup of the mix ( or substitute it with milk and egg) and they cook pretty quickly ☺️ Instead Of syrup I added traderjoes Almond butter ( look for the ones that have no hydrogenated oils- when I buy peanut butter or any kind of butter I only look for the ones that have the nuts as the ingredients and sometimes they have salt but absolutely no oils or preservatives ! I added Greek yogurt , choice of fresh fruit and also sprinkled a table spoon of Flax seed powder - so many benefits. The fruit adds sweetness or if you really want it sweet I would swap it for raw honey instead of sugary syrup . Just wanted to share this super easy breakfast idea🍓🥞 ____

I guess since my mom broke her hand this is a good time to talk about injuries and nutrition. Should you decrease your calories duringinjuries?

When you have an injury your BMR may increase 15-50% depending on the injury. Minor injury are around 15-20% and major surgeries and burn injuries may be up to 50%. Lack of nutrition/calories can lead to poor healing or slow progress. So I would recommend not decrease calories and focus on overall health and healing your injury first..
If you’re macro counting you can lower your carbs during healing and increase fats since you won’t be as active. Keep protein at .8-1 gram per pound of body weight. Make sure you’re eating plenty of fruits, veggies, and foods high in omega 3 to support healing. Turmeric is also good for inflammation. You can get it in pill form or seasoning. What if I quit my day-job (the other job where I sit at a desk all day) + opened up a brunch spot?🙊
