These are adorable, and I am gob-smacked that you have made 20! Though I used to put zippers in clothing ALL the time, since I quit making clothes I am like Sherrill--I run the other way. TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: QUILTS TO INSPIRE Quilts to Inspire. by Carolyn König. both in Australia and internationally. is Carolyn's use of fabrics. Each block is different and so intricate. to reproduce the original complex antique quilts. and applique, I'm in awe. these elaborate quilts. It was a veryspecial treat.
TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: A BALANCED DIET It is so true Kyle. When you work on one labor intensive project for too long you feel burnt out on it for a bit. I find a quick cure for that is to make a mini quilt or a zipper pouch or anything that I can call "DONE" in a day or two. TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: WINTER PLAIDS Winter Plaids. There's a distinct relationship. between winter and plaids. All those plaid flannel shirts come out of the closet. They're warm, comfortable and familiar. Many quilters are currently having fun working with plaid fabrics. Plaids have cycled around again, but these gals are finding treasures. on clothing hangers. TIMELESS REFLECTIONS Kyle Welcome. You have found the blog of Kyle Redente, wife, mother, nana, and a quiltmaker since 1973 and a dabbler in many other creativeendeavors.
TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: 2020 Thomas Sutherland, Dean of Agriculture at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, was kidnapped by Islamic Jihad members near his Beirut home on June 9, 1985. TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: NO MINI, BUT A MAJOR! What an amazing quilt, Kyle! It is a masterpiece beyond words. That is one intimidating pattern but you've tackled it with confidence along with your expert sewing skills :) Your stars are perfection and pressing all those seams must have been a real challenge. TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: SPRING TIME CAN BE ALLUSIVE Ah yes, springtime "should be" but this year it seems pretty much in sync with everything else going on in the world. This past week has been one of heavy rain (read flooded basement), snow, sleet, hail, and occasional sun breaks. TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: MARCH'S MINI How absolutely perfect! I love, love, love this quilt. It looks like it was made in 1900. And, yes I have about a thousand photos of antique quilts that I want to make one day. TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: SNOW AND HEARTS Your snow is so beautiful! We got so little here this year, I am longing for more (sorry!). I am actually looking forward to Spring for the first time in years as it TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: SIPPIN' SODAS Great job on the reconstruction; the fabric must have still been in good condition. I have some quilts made by my great grandmother (possibly great-great grandmother), probably between 1920 and 1950, but they are not in great shape with many areas where the fabric has torn or disintegrated. TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: QUILTS TO INSPIRE A couple of weeks ago I headed to Golden, Colorado to visit the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum and was totally captivated by the TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: ANOTHER RED AND WHITE QUILT? I know I have said it before, but you have the most fantastic vintage photos and such wonderful humor in your posts. I really enjoy it! Those delicious French General fabrics are just the thing to add a spark to any red and white quilt. TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: HOOKED ON BAGS- FEBRUARY'S MONTHLY MINIS Your bags are so adorable--love that you are using those embroideries. I purchased a pattern to make the bags with vinyl fronts, the vinyl, and the Soft and Stable before my surgery, but haven't had a chance to get back to making some. TIMELESS REFLECTIONS Kyle Welcome. Though I used to put zippers in clothing ALL the time, since I quit making clothes I am like Sherrill--I run the other way. TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: MARCH'S MINI QUILT A very appropriate March mini’s quilt name. The magneta wool flower center pops surrounded by various green fabrics, just like mothernature’s palette.
TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: A GOOD ENDING Love this happy scrappy quilt! A perfect ending for those bags of scraps, with no new expenditure except for time and thread. Can you imagine the hair length needed to TIMELESS REFLECTIONS: HALO MEDALLION QUILT Oh!! Yours is *so* beautiful. I love your colorway and fussy cutting. Those arcs of geese are awesome. I am so sorry we missed each other again. I was there with my husband and one way or another , doing the rounds at the exhibitions explaining everything to him, it is quite different from doing it by yourself, I seem to have missed that you were there. MONDAY, DECEMBER 30, 2019 A FINAL MONTHLY MINI- DECEMBER What better way to end 2019 than to spotlight a December mini. The colors of the month? Definitely, red and green. I was inspired by a free pattern Pam Budda had available on herwebsite.
Holiday Spirit
26" x 26"
I increased the size of the blocks. Hers were very small. 😊😊 I also made the blocks scrappy and also added a border. I kept the quilting simple and used a 28 wt. Aurifil thread to add texture, but added a design in the border which really doesn't show up except on the back. If you have been quilting for a long time you might recognize the fabric I used for the binding. It's an oldie.
It's from the Rising Sun collection from the Smithsonian, way back when. Guess it's why we have a stash! I've enjoyed the monthly mini challenge hosted by Wendy at The Constant Quilter .I hope 2020 will
find me continuing to use pieces from my stash, being inspired and challenged by all of you, and above all, having fun creating, playing, while exploring new possibilities.****
I'll be back at the end of January. Heading off on an adventure. Until Next Time- AdiosKyle

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2019 HOLIDAY FAVORITES, BLOG HOP, MY TURNWelcome to the
Holiday Favorites
Blog Hop, 2019.
I was honored
to be asked to participate. Thanks, Lori for hosting.***
The Christmas holiday is a time of expectation, a time to celebrate, and a time filled with traditions. I've learned over the years to keep Christmas decorating simple, welcoming, and focused on the things that are important to our family. (Like a decorated box, a small boy, Weston, and a Santa hat) 2018 Of course, if you have followed me for awhile you know that I've been quilting for a long time. I love creating and making beautiful quilts that are an expression of Me!***
Quilts can easily become part our Christmas decor. Have you noticed the popularity of the vintage red truck with a Christmas tree? Hey, wait, we have a red pickup! How about quilts in a Colorado red pickup! "A quiet Christmas morning in the Colorado snow" "All along the Rockies you can feel it in the air" From Telluride to Boulder down below" Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Quilts can be displayed almost anywhere.Rolled and stuffed
Stacked up high
Or casually draped over a chair. Of course, bedrooms are the normal place to create a cozy warm holiday look. A quilt that won't fit? How about a slight tip?Not one, but two
quilts might be needed on a cold Colorado night.Snowflakes and
Santas,
oh, what a delight!
Dreaming of Christmaswill be easy to do
tucked under a quilt with a stocking or two. Quilts can be hung on the wallsOr even
displayed as a mat
or used on the couchwhile taking a nap.
However you celebrate or what family traditions you hold dear, Wishing you and your family happiness during this magical time of the year. Everdeen, 5 months old 2013Until Next Time-
Kyle
