LEARN SUDOKU
Learn Sudoku - Detailed steps to master any Sudoku. We all know that Sudoku has enjoyed a major surge in popularity in recent years, even though most people think it looks "intimidating" and even "boring" at first glance. That's certainly how I felt when I first saw it. But now I like the game so much, I decided to create this website. SUDOKU - ADVANCED TECHNIQUES You are currently armed with enough knowledge to solve 95% or more of the Sudoku puzzles currently published in newspapers, books, and magazines. The more advanced techniques that follow are only required to solve very high level, intense puzzles. If you have already practiced and conquered all of the techniques up til now, or you'resimply too
SUDOKU - HIDDEN PAIRS Hidden Pairs. A Hidden Pair is basically just a "buried" Naked Pair. It occurs when two pencil marks appear in exactly two cells within the same house (row, column, or block). This time, however, the pair is not "Naked" - it is buried (or hidden) among other pencil marks. For example: The picture below shows a block with many unsolved cells. SUDOKU - HIDDEN SINGLES The definition of a hidden single is when a pencil mark is the only one of its kind in an entire row, column, or block. For example, can you find one in the sample below? This row must have a "7" in it somewhere, because in Sudoku all rows have a "7". If you look closely at the pencil marks, you will see only one cell that has a "7" as oneof
SUDOKU - NAKED PAIRS Naked Pairs. OK, get your mind out of the gutter! A Naked Pair is merely a Sudoku solving technique — and a very helpful one at that. The phrase refers to pencil marks — specifically, when two cells in the same house have the exact same two pencil marks. A ‘house' refers to a row, column, or block. A Sudoku has nine of each, making27
SUDOKU - XY WING
XY Wing involves 3 different cells — each with exactly two candidates (pencil marks) — that are related to each other in such a way that you can make some logical conclusions. Probably best just to show you. Below is an example of an XY Wing. Note how the 3 cells form a "Y" (see the red lines -SUDOKU - X WING
An X Wing is a technique for removing candidates (pencil marks). It starts with either two parallel rows or two parallel columns. Blocks are not involved here. If you can find a row that contains the same pencil mark in exactly two spots, as well as another parallel row that mirrors it — containing the same pencil mark in only the same twoSUDOKU - SWORDFISH
The puzzle above has a Swordfish on the number 5. There are three rows where all the possible 5s appear in the same three columns . Here is the same puzzle, but with some markings added for illustration: As you can see, the three rows marked by the blue lines all have their possible locations for a 5 confined to the same three columns (marked SUDOKU - HIDDEN TRIPLETS & QUADS Hidden Triplets & Quads. As you may have guessed, Hidden Triplets work on the same concept as Hidden Pairs: When three given pencil marks appear in only three cells in any given row, column, or block, all other pencil marks may be removed from those cells. In the example below, we see a block with only one cell solved and the rest of thecells
SUDOKU - NAKED TRIPLETS & QUADS Believe it or not, they make up a Naked Triplet. These cells must end up being the 5, 6, & 8, because together they share only those three candidates. The rule still applies - and you can safely remove 5, 6, & 8 from the other cells. Naked Quads are even more rare, but they do occur on occasion, so they are at least worth mentioning.LEARN SUDOKU

Sudoku is a puzzle game designed for a single player, much like a crossword puzzle. The puzzle itself is nothing more than a grid of little boxes called "cells". They are stacked nine high and nine wide, making 81 cells total. The puzzle comes with some of the cells(usually
SUDOKU VARIANTS
Over the years, many Sudoku variants have popped up. Some of them quite interesting indeed! One of my favorite variations is Sudoku for kids, which is just a simpler version that is a 6x6 grid instead of 9x9.The inner blocks are 3x2. SUDOKU - BASIC TECHNIQUES Sudoku - Basic Techniques. I had a lot of fun writing this section. The reason is that I just love the logic in these techniques. This is the real "meat" of the game. Some of the techniques are hard to follow at first, and even harder to spot in a puzzle. But with some practice you'll be able to recognize them with a glance. UNIQUE PUZZLE AVAILABILITY Unique Puzzle Availability. Because the rules prevent so many repeated digits, you might think (as I did) that there is probably a relatively small number of unique Sudoku puzzles that could exist, right? Not true. It simply means there is a row, column, or block that is only missing onenumber.
SUDOKU - UNIQUE RECTANGLE Ironically, this invalid puzzle is a perfect way for me to illustrate the "Unique Rectangle" principle to you. Notice that the four unsolved cells share exactly two of each kind of "house." That is, they fall in exactly two different rows, exactly two different columns, and exactly two different blocks. This is how they are able to interchange SUDOKU - EXTREMELY ADVANCED TECHNIQUES Extremely advanced techniques. There are a few more techniques that I do not plan to go over. EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW IS RIGHT HERE. We all know that Sudoku has enjoyed a major surge in popularity in recent years, even though most people think it looks “intimidating” and even “boring” at first glance. That’s certainly how I felt when I first saw it. But now I like the game so much, I decided to create this website. Its purpose is to teach the game to anyone who wants to learn. Sudoku is a great way to exercise your brain. As anyone who plays it can tell you - there is something addictive about it that is hard to explain. I realize that most “egg-head” types probably take to this numeric crossword puzzle from the get-go. But the rest of us on the planet think it _looks like a frustrating math puzzle at first glance_. Well, first impressions are not always right. By a happy accident, I started playing and soon became addicted to this little mind exerciser. It has the ability to stimulate your brain like no other. And the best part of all - it actually involves NO MATH!!
Not a numbers person? Perfect! This game doesn't really involve numbers. In fact, the boxes could just as easily be filled with letters of the alphabet, or even pictures! Numbers are only used because they are well-recognized symbols. On the other hand, if you _are_ an "analytical thinker", stick around! You have a head start. The game does, after all, involve analyticalthinking.
What I aim to do is teach you, step-by-step, everything there is to know about Sudoku! Let's get started…Advertisement
