The Second Great Mortality: a tale of Pestilence, war, and un-death in Medieval England. I can honestly say that I never imagined myself becoming the author of a zombie horror novel. Friedrich (1 August 1425, Heidelberg– 12 December 1476, Heidelberg) earned the surname “the Victorious” (der Siegreiche) shortly after he came to rule as regent for his nephew, Philip, after the death of his older brother in 1451, claiming to be the legitimateelector.

My brigandine was made by by Ashley Barber of Armour Services Historical in Essex, England and is a reproduction based on examples in the Royal Armouries collection in Leeds. The exterior is made of a heavy wool fabric dyed a deep green color. The interior consists of well over a hundred hand-tinned, spring steel plates attached to the fabric shell by approximately 1,000 decorative punchedLONNIE COLSON

For the reproduction harness, it was decided to copy the besagews from the funeral effigy of Sir John St. Loe, who died in 1447 and whose tomb was completed about 1450 in the Church of St. Andrew, Chew Magna, Somerset. By the mid-fifteenth century, an armet was an option to thegreat bascinet.

The crossbows of noblemen sometimes had a veneer of intricately-carved stag horn and/or elaborate patterned inlays. Regardless to how the crossbow was viewed on the battlefield, it was ever a high-status hunting weapon. The crossbows of noblemen sometimes had a veneer of intricately-carved stag horn and/or elaborate patterned inlays.
