The following sixteen charter members transferred from the Milwaukee Power Squadron to launch the beginning of the Madison Power Squadron: MADISON SAIL & POWER SQUADRON United States Power Squadron®, formed in 1914, is the largest fraternal boating organization in the United States. Harbor Lights June 2009 1 www.madisonsquadron.org MADISON SAIL AND POWER SQUADRON The Madison Sail and Power Squadron is located in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin, on the shores of our. magnificent Yahara Chain of Lakes, about 75 miles west of Milwaukee and about a 2 1/2 hour drive NW of Chicago. Our members sail the waters of Lake Mendota, MADISON SAIL & POWER SQUADRON The story begins in the fall of 1958 when the sixteen boating enthusiasts convinced fellow members of the Milwaukee Power Squadron to teach Piloting in Madison. After the course was completed in the spring of 1959, most of the sixteen continued with Seamanship and Advance Piloting Courses. The group recognized the need to advancetheir skills

Harbor Lights April/May 2012 page 1 www.madisonsquadron.org MADISON SAIL AND POWER SQUADRON The Madison Sail and Power Squadron is located in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin, on the shores of our magnificent Yahara Chain of Lakes, about 75 miles west of Milwaukee and about a MADISON SAIL & POWER SQUADRON United States Power Squadron®, formed in 1914, is the largest fraternal boating organization in the United States. We have over 450 squadrons totaling more than 40,000 members across the MADISON SAIL & POWER SQUADRON Squadron History-- The Madison Power Squadron was awarded its charter from the Governing Board of the United States Power Squadrons at the annual meeting in Florida on 16 January 1960. The following sixteen charter members transferred from the Milwaukee Power Squadron to launch the beginning of the Madison Power Squadron: PUBLIC BOATING COURSES Public Classes. Squadron Education Officer: Lt/C John Finstad — 608.835-5508, jfinstad88@gmail.com A variety of courses are offered by the Madison Sail and Power MADISON SAIL & POWER SQUADRON Cooperative Charting. Cooperative Charting Program of the United States Power Squadrons is conducted in close coordination with the Marine Chart Division, National Ocean Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce.SQUADRON EVENTS

Our members sail the waters of Lake Mendota, MADISON SAIL & POWER SQUADRON The story begins in the fall of 1958 when the sixteen boating enthusiasts convinced fellow members of the Milwaukee Power Squadron to teach Piloting in Madison. After the course was completed in the spring of 1959, most of the sixteen continued with Seamanship and Advance Piloting Courses. The group recognized the need to advancetheir skills
