COLIN JACK-HINTON MARITIME GALLERY The Colin Jack-Hinton Maritime Gallery tells a maritime history of the Top End and neighbours in Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific through a unique and unrivalled collection of AWAKENING ABORIGINAL HERITAGE The Aboriginal Heritage Team works directly with custodians to culturally map the collection and archival material to help preserve and protect cultural knowledge for future generations. MEGAFAUNA CENTRAL ALICE SPRINGS Megafauna Central in Todd St Mall, Alice Springs, showcases the unique megafauna that roamed Central Australia 8 million years ago. Meet the world's largest bird and a fearsome crocodile from the Miocene epoch. Catch a glimpse of palaeontologists at work in the lab. Free entry. Franck Gohier: a thousand miles from everywhere is a celebration of the work of Franck Gohier and is the third in a series of MAGNT exhibitions celebrating Northern Territory artists. It places him firmly in the Darwin, the Northern Territory and the Australiancultural landscape.
FEELING FOR PATTERN: 50 YEARS OF TIWI POTTERY In 1969, six Aboriginal men from Milingimbi, Port Keats (Wadeye) and Bathurst Island began their traineeships at Bagot Pottery: a ceramic and clay processing unit founded by the Northern Territory Welfare Department and the Department of Industrial Arts at the University of New South Wales. 2018 marks the 50 year anniversary of the establishment of a pottery studio at Bagot Reserve in Darwin.
