Live albums are booming these days and this time it is Finnish doom metallers Swallow The Sun who bring a bit of live atmosphere into our lockdown life. '20 Years of Gloom, Beauty and Despair - Live in Helsinki' is the title of the first ever live album, coming from the Jyväsykla-based doom band. REVIEW WITCH CROSS ‘ANGEL OF DEATH’ 'Angel of Death' is not only a smashing thrash metal anthem, penned by Slayer. It is also the title of the new record, unleashed by Danish metal outfit Witch Cross. Witch Cross, hailing from Copenhagen, is a veteran band when it comes to heavy metal. With REVIEW LUCIFER’S HAMMER ‘THE TRIP’ Almost 10 years ago, a band called Lucifer's Hammer was founded in Santiago de Chile, named after a Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle novel. CD REVIEW WALTARI ‘GLOBAL ROCK’ If there is one band on this planet that takes the word ‘crossover’ very serious, than it’s Waltari from Finland. The band, nowadays driven by Kärtsy Hatakka.and Jari Lehtinen, seems to have an endless flow of border-crossing creativity. Not forgotten is the extraordinary ‘Yeah! Yeah! Die! Die! Death Metal Symphony in Deep C’ album, a... Continue Reading →__12. March 2020

CD REVIEW SLIME 'WEM GEHÖRT DIE ANGST' In days with a world that's thrown out of kilter, bands like Slime are like musical call for action. Although commercially more successful than in the '80s and in general more mature than in the early days, the band is still authentic, stick to their mindset and is never tired of holding up a mirror to society.__11. CD REVIEW PETER AND THE TEST TUBE BABIES 'FUCTIFANO' With 'Queen of Fucking Everything' the end of the album comes far too early. Fortunately there is a 'Start'-button that you can press again and I can assure you that you will use this button after running through the album for a first time. Peter And The Test Tube Babies in 2020 go strong. Peter and Del might got older but certainly not calmer. These guys still breathe the spirit of Punk Rock.__10. March 2020
CD REVIEW REECE 'CACOPHONY OF SOULS' David Reece's musical vita reads well. Accept, Bonfire and Bangalore Choir are bands the frontman enriched with his voice and vocals. Sainted Sinner was the latest musical endeavor that's now followed by a next solo album, entitled 'Cacophony of Souls'. The first solo album of Reece dates back to the year 2009 and as eleven... CD REVIEW ALLEN/OLZON 'WORLDS APART' Although the album is released as Allen/Olzon it's Swedish guitarist and producer Magnus Karlsson being a driving force behind this release. He was already deeply involved in the first three Allen/Lande albums and returns to the concept with a twist. This time it's Russell Allen and singer Anette Olzon sharing vocals on this new album.... CD REVIEW HAREM SCAREM 'CHANGE THE WORLD' Harry Hess and Pete Lesperance are the driving forces behind Harem Scarem, the Canadian Rock band with the great sense for melodies. The star of the quartet began to shine in the late eighties and exquisite songwriting delivered songs that found a wider group of fans. CD REVIEW ROSS THE BOSS ‘BORN OF FIRE’ I think that a lot of things regarding Manowar that can be controversially discussed and looked upon from different angles. What I think everybody agrees to is that fact that the years with Ross 'The Boss’ Friedman have been the most successful ones, including albums that became milestones in Heavy Metal and the moment Friedman... CD REVIEW MY DYING BRIDE 'THE GHOST OF ORION' ‘The Ghost of Orion’ is the return of a band that belongs to the spearhead of Death- and Doom Metal. It seems like that the dark shades of the last years slowly fade away and reveal a band that finds back to their own strength. I guess there is no better way than celebrating the band’s 30th anniversary with an album like ‘The Ghost ofOrion’.

CD REVIEW LORD OF LIGHT 'MORNINGSTAR' In these days of darkness a morning star would be certainly a good thing once in a while. At least from a musical perspective a 'Morningstar' arises, in this case as an album, revealed by Lord Of Light. The band is the brainchild of Nicklas Kirkevall who bounced some ideas for songs back and forth... Continue Reading →__4. March 2020
