Nuku'alofa, Tonga : A patient at Lautoka Hospital who tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday afternoon, died a few hours later at 6:35pm, confirmed Fiji’s Permanent Secretary of Health, Dr James Fong today. JUDGE REJECTS APPLICATION TO RECUSE HIMSELF IN LAVULAVU Hon. Mr Justice Cooper has rejected an application that he recuse himself from presiding over the Lavulavu trial. The application was made by 'Etuatu Lavulavu on 10 May. The judge concluded that evidence during the trial suggested that Lavulavu's complaints that he undermined its fairness, were without any foundation. The trial against the Lavulavu couple continues in the EDUCATION, THE KING’S WEAPON AGAINST POVERTY AND IGNORANCE As a leader, the King sets an example, in education, religion, sports and through the example of his own hard working lifestyle. His Majesty was the first Tongan monarch and the first Tongan to earn a university degree, and education continues to be the King’s chief weapon for fighting ignorance and poverty in his developing Kingdom.
