To help secure zoning and a city license to be approved as a shelter in Denver, Janet and Nanci walked the neighborhood collecting signatures. Nanci did all the administrative work, and Janet was in charge of animal care. ADOPTION PROCESS & FEES Our adoption fees are as follows: Kittens up to six months are $100. Cats seven months to seven years are $75. Senior cats eight years and older are $50. FIV+ and FELV cats up to 7 years $25. FIV+ and FELV+ cats 8 years and up $15. Puppies under the age of six months are $200. Dogs over six months and under eight years are $125. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Since its inception in 1988, MaxFund has found adoptive homes for more than 31,000 animals. In addition, over 48,000 spays and neuters have been provided, mostly for pets of low income families. MaxFund participates in Mobile Spay/Neuter clinics in the San Luis Valley.
