PART I: WHAT IS MEAD? Part I: What is Mead? From a very simple perspective, mead is the result of honey, water, and yeast left to ferment until alcohol has been created. On a more technical note, mead is any alcoholic beverage where more than 50% of the fermented sugars originate from honey. Beer, likewise would be a beverage fermented from greater than 50%cereal
MEADMAKR BATCHBLENDR The MeadMakr BatchBlendr. Are you planning to blend two batches of mead together to adjust for sweetness or abv? Our blending utility is just the tool you need. Provide the SG, abv, and volumes of the two liquids you want to combine and we'll do the rest. MeadMakr BatchBlendr. Ingr 1. HOW TO DETERMINE ALCOHOL BY VOLUME Measure the SG of the finished mead. 2. Measure 250 mL of the finishedmead (wine or beer) with a graduated cyclinder and pour into a flask, beaker, or pot that can be boiled. 3. Boil the mead to half its volume. HOW TO DETERMINE ALCOHOL BY VOLUME Measure the SG of the finished mead. 2. Measure 250 mL of the finishedmead (wine or beer) with a graduated cyclinder and pour into a flask, beaker, or pot that can be boiled. 3. Boil the mead to half its volume. As alcohol’s boiling point is less than that of water, all of the alcohol in the mead will have evaporated.
