Due to COVID-19, Metra trains are operating on alternate schedules that we will update regularly to meet increasing demand. For the latest schedules, click here . METRA ELECTRIC DISTRICT (ME) The Homewood East elevator is temporarily out of service. Recommended alternative accessible locations are Calumet and Flossmoor. Metra will provide updated information once service has been restored. Metra Alert ME - Train #124, sched. to arrive Millennium Station at 2:12 PM - may be 15 to 20 minutes delayed, Homwood station rehabilitation. SCHEDULES IN THE TIME OF COVID-19 Schedules in the time of COVID-19. Metra is exploring new ways to rebuild our schedules while ridership remains low during the coronavirus pandemic, using this time as an opportunity to improve the commuting experience once riders return. In March, Metra implemented our alternate schedules, which were originally designed to be used incases of
METRA BOARD APPROVES 2021 BUDGET The Metra Board today approved the agency’s 2021 operating budget. Although its $700 million operating budget for next year does not call for any fare increases or service cuts from present levels, the agency’s leadership warned that without additional COVID-related financial assistance, Metra will need to cut expenses by $70 millionnext year.
UNION PACIFIC NORTH (UP-N) Attention Union Pacific Customers - Metra has been informed by 500 W. Madison building management that the doors to Ogilvie on the corners of Madison/Canal and Madison/Clinton will be closed Sunday, May 23 starting at about 1:00 p.m., but the center revolving doors on Madison will remain open. The entrance on Washington will also be closed. Metra is cautiously optimistic that this year the state of Illinois will take action to address the chronic capital funding shortfalls that have plagued Metra and indeed the entire state. Metra Electric District Metra Alert ME - Starting November 29, 2020, Metra trains will arrive and depart from tracks 8, 9, and 10, vacuum truck working nightly Starting November 29, 2020 all Metra trains from 8:25 p.m. to 12:50 a.m. will arrive and depart from NICTD tracks 8, 9, and 10 at Millennium station and use only the Island platform at Van-Buren due to planned work rail vacuum truck working nightly in RandolphDepot.
Metra Alert ME - The East Elevator at 51st Street out of service for a prolonged period for extensive repairs. Metra plans to have this elevator back in service sometime in the Fall of 2020. Update11/24/2020
