Municipal Bonds—our name as well as our purpose—is a symbolic play on words. Municipalities form and encourage a concentration of people and ideas, where bonds are the connections and strengths between us. To that effect, Municipal Bonds was conceived in the Bay Area in 2019—a contemporary art gallery, international in scope and cross-cultural by intention. LISA BLATT | MINNESOTA STREET PROJECT Lisa K. Blatt has exhibited extensively in museums, galleries and non-profits on an international level. Blatt often works in extreme landscapes. To make art she has survived an Antarctica storm trapped in a tent for six nights on top of a live volcano, woken up to find an unexploded missile next to her tent in 29 Palms, and traveled with NASA to the driest spot on Earth. KARA MARIA: REGARDING EXTINCTION Kara Maria: Regarding Extinction Upstairs Main Gallery. Kara Maria’s work examines the conflict between humans and wildlife. Her miniature portraits of endangered species within a context of chaotic shapes and exploding colors contemplate environmental displacement, instability,and extinction.
KIRK MAXSON: GARDENS OF PARADISE Kirk Maxson’s Gardens of Paradise is Eleanor Harwood Gallery’s inaugural show at Minnesota Street Project. Maxson is installing a “Garden of Paradise” as a site for consideration of war and conflict. The Garden is a non-reactionary contemplation of US involvement in current and historical military engagement overseas. Her practice explores urban space, the Underground Railroad, pop music, pattern language, and other early forms of software. KIRK MAXSON: GARDENS OF PARADISE Kirk Maxson’s Gardens of Paradise is Eleanor Harwood Gallery’s inaugural show at Minnesota Street Project. Maxson is installing a “Garden of Paradise” as a site for consideration of war and conflict. The Garden is a non-reactionary contemplation of US involvement in current and historical military engagement overseas. LISA BLATT | MINNESOTA STREET PROJECT Lisa K. Blatt has exhibited extensively in museums, galleries and non-profits on an international level. Blatt often works in extreme landscapes. To make art she has survived an Antarctica storm trapped in a tent for six nights on top of a live volcano, woken up to find an unexploded missile next to her tent in 29 Palms, and traveled with NASA to the driest spot on Earth. Municipal Bonds—our name as well as our purpose—is a symbolic play on words. Municipalities form and encourage a concentration of people and ideas, where bonds are the connections and strengths between us. To that effect, Municipal Bonds was conceived in the Bay Area in 2019—a contemporary art gallery, international in scope and cross-cultural by intention. Altman Siegel was founded by Claudia Altman-Siegel in 2009.
