2021 National NAIDOC Poster. The 2021 National NAIDOC Poster, ‘Care for Country’ was designed by Gubbi Gubbi artist Maggie-Jean Douglas. Using the 2021 NAIDOC Week theme, Heal Country!, as inspiration, ‘Care for Country’ is a bright and vibrant artwork which explores how Country has cared for and healed First Nations people spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially and culturally. 2021 NAIDOC WEEK THEME ANNOUNCED: HEAL COUNTRY! The National NAIDOC awards recognise the outstanding contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This year’s ceremony will include the 2020 and 2021 awards due to the cancellation of the 2020 awards last year. People are encouraged to nominate individualsNAIDOC WEEK

ALCHEMY OF MOUNTAINS AND SEA Alchemy of Mountains and Sea. This is an exhibition by a Chinese contemporary artist Zhang Huajie, who currently resides in Sydney. Since moving to Australia in the beginning of 2020, Zhang has been widely exposed to and deeply touched by the culture and history of the Aboriginal culture and art. This year Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative is hosting Geelong’s annual NAIDOC Ball at the Geelong Events Centre at Rydges Hotel, Geelong. NAIDOC Week is the perfect time to celebrate the achievements of the local Aboriginal community and Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative. The learning resources available to all students through the NAIDOC website are invaluable for teachers and students. The site may be used for research in foundational knowledge concerning National Aboriginal Week, the history of themes since 1972, and the host cities for the NAIDOC Awards ceremonies.. The NAIDOC teaching ideas developed by the National NAIDOC Committee relate directly NATIONAL NAIDOC 2021 POSTER COMPETITION AND AWARD The winning entry will be awarded a $10,000 cash prize and the artwork recognised across the country on the 2021 National NAIDOC poster. The competition is now open to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists aged 13 years or older. The National NAIDOC Committee also invited nominations for the 2021 National NAIDOC Awards. The Awards NOMINATIONS EXTENDED FOR 2021 NAIDOC AWARDS Nominations for the 2021 National NAIDOC Awards have been extended until 5pm AEDT, Monday 29 March 2021. The National NAIDOC awards recognise the outstanding contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This year’s ceremony will include the 2020 and 2021 awards due to the cancellation of the 2020 awards last year. People are encouraged to nominate individuals NAIDOC POSTER GALLERY NAIDOC Week posters from 1972 to the present. Unless alternative licensing arrangements are indicated in respect of a particular poster below, the Commonwealth grants you a royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce and communicate the Posters for the purpose of National NAIDOC events and other Indigenous engagement initiatives. NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920′s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
