HOW MUCH DOES YOUR COOLANT LEVEL CHANGE WITH TEMP?? The reason I ask this question is when my engine is ice cold with the winter temps, the coolant will be 4-6 inches lower in the resevoir. This happens when the motor is cold-starting for the first time of the day. If the engine is allowed to sit outside for 3-4 hours and cools to ambient temps the level will go down but not as drastric. HOW TO GET STICKER RESIDUE OFF OF CREDIT CARDS? Use a product like Goo Gone, that's citrus oil based. Rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol and Goo Gone are always my one-two punch on sticker goo of any kind. I usually use rubbing alcohol or warm soapy water after Goo Gone just to get rid of the strong citrus smell and slight oily residue - then again, some folks like that sort of thing. B can be cut shorter and left alone as it goes to B in the engine bay. THREAD SEALANT ON REAR DIFF PLUGS? The RTV is likely to prevent loosening due to vibration; tapered threads are more than capable of sealing. Teflon tape is a bad idea if this is true, as it will lubricate the threads. Teflon tape would be fine, its meant to be used on tapered threads. Not that its not neededon these plugs.
LOW AND ROUGH IDLE AND STALLING AT COMPLETE STOPS. Join Date: Nov 2011. After disconnecting the battery your ECM loses its' idle point. You need to go ahead and disconnect the battery again. Then when you hook it up, turn the key on for 5-10 seconds before cranking. Start it up and let it sit about 10 minutes at idle so it can relearn idle. SWAPPING YOUR 2.5I/RS TO A WRX/STI; IS IT WORTH IT? Yes the fuel pump in a WRX is bigger than the 2.5i you will need the harness for this as it is completely different for a wrx. To be safe, I swapped it out completely, also putting a Walbro in it's place. I also dont know about the '08 2.5i, but the 06 2.5i only has 2 fuel lines, and the WRX has 3. ACN91 OCTANE, WHAT THE HELL IS IT? Scooby Newbie. Member#: 299942. Join Date: Nov 2011. 12oz (soda can worth) of Torco Accelerator in a 15gallon fill of ACN91 gives perfect 93 octane. Its what I run daily in SoCal so I can stick with the 93 octane maps. Ive proven it via many, many logging sessions its not snake oil ots octane booster from pepboys. FLUIDAMPR VS. ATI DAMPER: WHY I SWITCHED TO FLUIDAMPR Fluidampr vs. ATI Damper: Why I switched to Fluidampr. Haven't seen a good comparison between the two and definitely nothing by someone who has actually run both. Here is my review of the two dampers and why I made the switch to the Fluidampr. Reason 1: Any real drag racer will tell you how important SFI ratings and labels are. HOW TO: EVAP + CHARCOAL CANISTER REMOVAL Rear end cleanup: Remove all parts marked as red: Which are these parts: Afterwards we will put a breather on A as it needs to be vented since it goes to the gas tank (breather is just to be cautious and not let anything go in). B can be cut shorter and left alone as it goes to B in the engine bay. THREAD SEALANT ON REAR DIFF PLUGS?
