OVERVIEW — NEW INC Program Overview. NEW INC’s program is dedicated to growing creative practitioners into creative entrepreneurs. Through varied learning models and a human-centered curriculum, we invite multidisciplinary creatives to develop the skills, tools, and tactics they need to sustain their work. Our program incubates people by supportingprojects at

NEW INC is a shared workspace and incubator program supporting an anti-disciplinary community of individuals, small teams and collectives. Our year-long program runs September-August, and is designed to support creative practitioners as they pursue a sustainable practice or bring a new business to life.MEMBERS — NEW INC
Members Our members range from individual practitioners such as artists, designers, and storytellers, to collectives, studios, nonprofits, and startups. OUR STORY — NEW INC Our Story. As the first museum-led cultural incubator, NEW INC was conceived of as a not-for-profit platform for furthering the New Museum’s ongoing commitment to new art and new ideas. A special incubator Advisory Council is chaired by New Museum Trustee David B. Heller, and its accomplished members provide guidance and lend their expertise to this innovative Museum initiative, and contribute mentorship support to its membership community. CULTURAL FUTURES TRACK Synoptic Office. Synoptic Office is a multidisciplinary design studio operating in the space between design, technology, and education. Co-founded by Caspar Lam and YuJune Park, the studio works alongside institutions and large organizations such as Carnegie Hall and Bloomberg to explore how technology can be used to tell stories of artand culture.
MUSEUM TECHNOLOGY TRACK Launched with funding from the Knight Foundation, the Museum Technology Track ran for three years (2017-2020)—Years 4, 5, and 6 at NEW INC. Building on our work during those years and with continued support from Knight Foundation, we launched our Cultural Futures track in Year 7.. MEMBERS — NEW INCC++ NEW FUNCTION Members Our members range from individual practitioners such as artists, designers, and storytellers, to collectives, studios, nonprofits, and startups. OUR STORY — NEW INC Our Story. As the first museum-led cultural incubator, NEW INC was conceived of as a not-for-profit platform for furthering the New Museum’s ongoing commitment to new art and new ideas. Now in Year 7, NEW INC’s membership model continues to support a diverse range of creative practitioners with a values-driven program and safe space forTRACKS — NEW INC
APPLY. Program Tracks. In Year 7 (2020 - 2021), our member cohort is organized into 5 tracks, or focus areas: Art & Code, Creative Science, Cultural Futures, Hybrid Practice and XR: Bodies in Space. Each track is assigned a dedicated mentor-in-residence, and in some cases we have partnered with like-minded projects or companies to offer specialAPPLY — NEW INC
NEW INC is a shared workspace and incubator program supporting an anti-disciplinary community of individuals, small teams and collectives. Our year-long program runs September-August, and is designed to support creative practitioners as they pursue a sustainable practice or bring a new business to life.MENTORS — NEW INC
Founded by artist Mark Tribe as a listserve including some of the first artists to work online, Rhizome has played an integral role in the history of contemporary art engaged with digital technologies and the internet. Rhizome is a NEW INC anchor tenant and a partner on the Art & Code Track. Track: Art & Code. DEDICATED MENTORS. LEADERSHIP — NEW INC Leadership. NEW INC was cofounded by Lisa Phillips, Toby Devan Lewis Director, and Karen Wong, Deputy Director of the New Museum. A special incubator Advisory Council is chaired by New Museum Trustee David B. Heller, and its accomplished members provide guidance and lend their expertise to this innovative Museum initiative, and contribute mentorship support to its membership community.
