Primary goal was to evaluate the performance of the internal telemetry system, to evaluate the launching complex, and to become familiar with the operations, range safety and tracking systems of the AFMTC rocket range.NIELS PAPERMODELS
The Vanguard TV-1 was a two-stage test vehicle . The first stage was the Martin Viking type II slightly modified for the Vanguard program. Fully loaded the new viking weighed 6.800 kg against the 4.500 kg of the viking 7. The diameter of the body was increased, the fins were delta shaped and equipped with small roll control jets. Viking 7 was launched on august 7, 1959. It reached an altitude of 218 km (136 miles), which was a new altitude record. The length of the viking 7 was 14,81 m (48 ft 7 in) and it was so small, that it could be moved on a special cart pulled by an ordinary jeep. MIMOSA stands for Mi cro m easurements o f S atellite A cceleration. The objective of the MIMOSA satellite is to measure atmospheric drag and other non-gravitional origin forces. Therefore the satellites must be of a very regular sharpe and the measuring device had to be placed in it's center of gravity. Micro-satellitess launched together with PIONEER 1 BUILT BY LES (FRIENDLY AIRPLANE ASYLUM & EX-NASA Les (Friendly Airplane Asylum & ex-NASA flack) repainted the original model to match the Pioneer 1 replica owned by the National Air & SpaceMuseum.

History Martin Viking No. 13, a liquid-propellant single-stage rocket, was redesignated TV-0 and fired as the first Vanguard Test Vehicle TV-0 on December 8, 1956. About 3400 IR Super Falcons were built, replacing most earlier versions of the weapon in service. It was fired at Kokubunji in the outer area of Tokyo. The model This model comes in two versions. A larger version in scale 1:32. When fully assembled on the stand, it is 44 cm high.
