Racial and Ethnic Socialization (RES) (link is external) is a process through which parents influence “children's racial identity and self-concept, beliefs about the way the world works, and repertoire of strategies and skills for coping with and navigating racism and inter- and intra-racial relationships and interactions.” (From Resilience OPEN EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES FOR ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONS The proposed project is intended to support the sustainable creation, adaptation, and use of Open Educational Resources (OER) in allied health professions and health sciences fields at large. Our faculty fellowship is designed to include training in relevant health sciences resources from the NNLM, training in OER authorship and use, and support in using the resources from the NNLM to create OER. CARING FOR THE MIND: PROVIDING MENTAL HEALTH INFORMATION Responding to questions involving topics on mental health is challenging even for the most experienced librarian. In Caring for the Mind, participants will learn how to effectively provide mental health information at their libraries.
