MENTAL HEALTH @ NUS
NUS promote a 3 stage goals. For short-terms goals to tackle students facing mental problems under COV-19. For a long term goals, reform the services for counselling in the Uni and specialised counselling services. Training for admins, lecturers, departments, and academic staff in general. Urgently. DECOLONISING EDUCATION Decolonisation of education will only be achieved by centring and empowering Black people through a movement that is networked, resourced, and active. Strengthening and providing a platform for this movement is the aim of our #NUSDecoloniseEducation campaign. Because reaching and centring Black people within this campaign is ourintention, you

Over £174m for student hardship across the UK with a #StudentSafetyNet and #StudentsDeserveBetter. £500m back for students, by securing early tenancy release. A 4-Nation U-turn on A-level, GCSE and BTEC grading in the summer, winning #JusticeForEducation. OVER HALF OF STUDENTS’ MENTAL HEALTH IS WORSE THAN BEFORE Over half of students’ mental health is worse than before the pandemic. • 52 per cent of students say their mental health has deteriorated or been affected negatively by Covid-19. • Only 20 per cent of students have sought mental health support. • 29% of those who said their mental health had been negatively affected had soughthelp.
DECOLONISERS FESTIVAL AND PROGRAMME @ NUS The Decolonisers Festival will take place on the 15th and 16th May. It will be open to all and will act as the launch event for the Decolonisers Programme. It will offer a mix of political education workshops, skill-sharing activities, and networking opportunities for people campaigning on decolonising education at a local and nationallevel.
VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR COVID-19 NATIONAL SUPPORT LINE @ NUS Nationally the British Red Cross are looking for around 20-30 volunteers, who will be a vital help to the service. The BRC NSL is offering emotional and practical support to those people impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic that need it most. Their aim to provide support for the most vulnerable individuals who are at risk of furtherhealth and

STAND FOR ELECTION @ NUS Stand for Election. Elections to committee positions are one of the ways students shape and scrutinise our collective campaigning work. At conferences, this year there will be several elections to committee positions at NUS. There are no elections to full time officer positions this year as all our officers were elected to two-year termsin 2020.
