On 11 th May it was announced in the Queen’s Speech that mandatory calorie labelling on menus will be introduced as part of the government’s strategy to tackle obesity. The legislation will be enacted in April 2022 and will require businesses with over 250 employees to display PARTNER OF MISSING DURHAM GRADUATE CONTINUES SEARCH ALONE The boyfriend of missing Durham graduate Esther Dingley is continuing the search for her alone. Daniel Colegate has begun searching the area of the Pyrenees where Ms Dingley was last seen. He made the decision to continue due to French and Spanish authorities being forced to wait until heavy snow has cleared in the area. LABOUR LOSES CONTROL OF DURHAM COUNTY COUNCIL FOR FIRST The Labour Party’s dismal showing in this week’s local elections went from bad to worse as it lost control of Durham County Council for the first time since the Council’s creation in 1919. Having gone into the elections with 68 councillors, results announced tonight saw the party lose 21 seats and, with it, their majority. Announcing a series of virtual ensembles to be released over the examination season last week, Emily Pugh describes how music making has shifted online.
