Covid-19 vaccine rolled out in Israel, as Palestinians are forced to wait December 18, 2020. Palestinian leaders and international activists were quick to point out Israel is obligated to ensure that Palestinians are vaccinated as quickly as possible, however they face the reality it may be months before a vaccine is acquired for the occupied territories. BDS - PALESTINE MONITOR - PM Earlier this week, the chairman of the London-based Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), Hugh Lanning, became the first foreign activist to fall prey to the controversial “BDS ban” law, BARGHOUTHI: WALLS AND WEAPONS CAN’T STOP A VIRUS The coronavirus has exposed the naked truth about defective global health, economic, and security systems more than millions of articles, publications and books ever could. THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HIGH COST OF LIVING IN PALESTINE As for the subjective reasons related to Palestinian economic policies-- this needs another article. Between the rolling hills of Birzeit, a university town just north of Ramallah, construction is underway on the Palestinian Museum, a project spearheaded by the Welfare Association (WA), an independent Palestinian non-profit which provides funding for development and humanitarian causes in Palestine. ISRAELIS PROTEST AGAINST PALESTINIAN FAMILY PURCHASING Several Israeli civil servants were also advocating for this bigoted protest. These include the former Mayor of Afula, Avi Elkabetz, and Deputy Mayor Shlomo Malihi. Since the 1980s, the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) was granted a concession by the Israeli Civil Administration to supply all of the West Bank’s electricity. IN QALQILYA, LOCAL ZOO IS READY FOR THE INTERNATIONAL One might think there’s nothing much to do in Qalqilya, a West Bank city of around 45,000 tucked on a hillside near the border with Israel. Qalqilya is mostly known for being surrounded on all sides by the occupation wall, with only one crowded checkpoint left for residents to enter and exit the city. TWO ATTACKS NEAR HEBRON SETTLEMENT LEAVE THREE On Monday morning, three Palestinians were fatally shot by Israeli forces in two separate attacks near an Israeli settlement on the outskirts of Hebron, Ma'an news reported. Both attacks, a shooting and a car-ramming, took place within minutes apart near the Israeli settlement of Kiriyat Arba.
