Here's a list of my main code contributions to the community. In 2014 I signed up to Github and started migrating my code into repositories (or at least, any code suitable for public consumption), and I also do all of my new coding in Github repos (mostly public). Get-PublicIPAddress.ps1 is a PowerShell script for retrieving the public IP address of a local or remote computer. "BACK UP YOUR FILE ENCRYPTION CERTIFICATE AND KEY" PROMPT I do have BitLocker enabled for the disks in this computer, but I'm quite sure I haven't used EFS to encrypt any files. It's been a few years since I needed to use Cipher.exe to do anything EFS-related, so I read the TechNet documentation to work out which switches to use to search my drives for encrypted files.. From a CMD prompt it's as simple as running “cipher.exe /u /n”. Actually, a lot of the marketing plan gets actioned before a book gets published. Podcasts are pre-recorded, guest posts are pre-written, and ad campaigns get planned. When the book launches, all that stuff kicks into action withit.
SILENCING THE SURFACE ARC TOUCH MOUSE SCROLL NOISE Either way, it's an easy one. Simply go to the Windows Store and download the Arc Touch Bluetooth Mouse app. After installing and launching the app, all you need to do is switch off the Vibration/Sound setting. I read Remote: Office Not Required in anticipation of a future in which I work remotely for companies in a more full-time basis. Whether that is my own company, with multiple employees around the world, or working for another company as an employee myself. As it turns out, a lot of what is covered in this book is relevant to my situation today. IMPORTING HYPER-V VMS AFTER REBUILDING HOST So a failed OS disk was no big deal. I had a spare I could put in the server, reinstalled Windows Server 2012 R2, discovered that the spare drive was also dead (must have been an earlier failed one I forgot to label correctly), installed another spare, reinstalled Windows Server 2012 R2 *again*, spent a bit of time fiddling with NIC drivers to get it all working, and then I'm ready to set up "BACK UP YOUR FILE ENCRYPTION CERTIFICATE AND KEY" PROMPT I do have BitLocker enabled for the disks in this computer, but I'm quite sure I haven't used EFS to encrypt any files. For too long our lives have been dominated by the under one roof(tm) Industrial Revolution model of work. That era is now over. There is no longer a reason for the daily roll call, of the need to be seen with your butt on your seat in the office. "BACK UP YOUR FILE ENCRYPTION CERTIFICATE AND KEY" PROMPT I do have BitLocker enabled for the disks in this computer, but I'm quite sure I haven't used EFS to encrypt any files. It's been a few years since I needed to use Cipher.exe to do anything EFS-related, so I read the TechNet documentation to work out which switches to use to search my drives for encrypted files.. From a CMD prompt it's as simple as running “cipher.exe /u /n”. TWO MONTHS WITH THE LENOVO THINKPAD P50 MOBILE WORKSTATION For the last couple of months I've used a Lenovo ThinkPad P50 as my primary working computer. The P50 is a mobile workstation, which is another way of saying that it's a big, powerful laptop.
