COLOUR WARS
Split the students into 3 even teams and distribute the 3 coloured balls (one for each student). Balls can be any 3 colours you choose, but I find it works best if you can create a story connection between the 3 colours. For us, we use yellow, blue and green where yellow = sun, blue = sky and green = grass. In this game, each colour can tagone
CONTINUOUS CRICKET
There is a learning curve here, but once the kids get it they love it! Play with 5 outs before you switch (unless the pitcher gets it into the bin of course). Remind the pitchers that the ball MUST bounce and cannot be rolled! They have to be trying to hit the bin, or get it into the bin, each time. Continuous Cricket.HULA HOOP RELAY
Description: Split the kids into 3-5 different teams and have them line up behind one another. At a distance from them, and in front of each line, set up the cone. Give the first kid in each line a hula hoop and have him get inside. The first kid must now run down to the cone, go around it, and come back to their line. Once back, the nextkid
PRISON BREAK
Split the kids into two even teams. Lay the hula hoops out sporadically around the field, and mark each one by placing a cone outside of the hoop. One team starts inside/on one of the safe zones, and the other team starts in the field. The object of the game is to get as many of your players from one safe zone to the other in5-minutes.
BIG BALL SOCCER
Equipment: One giant exercise ball (a bosu ball or other works well, but the thinner the wall of the ball, the better it will work for thisgame).
DANISH LONG BALL
Description: Split the kids into 2 even teams. The game is set up much like kickball, except you set up home plate on one end of the gym, and the bench on the other end of the gym. The bench serves as the only base in the game, and to be safe a student must be standing on the bench. One team is at bat, and they sit on the side of the gym, in BUILDERS AND BULLDOZERS Description: Assign half of the class to be builders (their job is to make sure that everything in the gym is right-side up). Assign the other half of the class to be bulldozers (their job is to make sure that everything in the gym is upside down and/or knocked over). Kids are not allowed to use their feet, and are not allowed to hit things(so
SILENT SOCCER
Description: Have the kids sit in a circle on their chairs, gripping the sides of the chairs with their hands and sitting with a straight back. You can have more than one circle going at a time, as long as their is enough space, and nothing in the middle of the circle except for the soccer ball.
