PetCoach is made possible by our selection of veterinarians and other highly qualified pet experts. Meet some of them:*
DR. CHRISTIE LONG, D.V.M., C.V.A. Veterinarian & Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist As a small animal veterinarian, I've done everything from working in a busy dog and cat practice, to doing volunteer work in Mexico, to teaching veterinary students about how to better communicate with the humans that their patients come with. I've also written over 250 articles that help pet parents understand diseases of companionanimals.
I'm a 2007 graduate of Colorado State University, and a licensed practitioner and veterinary acupuncturist in the state of Colorado. After seven years in a busy small animal practice north of Denver, my husband and I took our son, our dogs (Pancake and Gizmo), and our cats (Sneaky and Sidh) and moved to the mountains of Mexico for two years. My biggest professional joy, besides fixing sick animals and taking care of well ones, is helping pet owners better understand how to optimally care for their dogs and cats. I went looking for a way to do just that, and I found PetCoach. I love that PetCoach allows me to connect with and help pet owners all over the world who are different from each other in so many ways, but alike in the most important way: they love their pets. As Chief Veterinarian at PetCoach, I get to select and train the top pet professionals from around the world, who ensure that we continually provide the highest standard of compassionate care to our community ofpet parents.

DR. DESTINI R. HOLLOWAY, DVMVeterinarian
For me, helping a pet owner become educated about how to care for their pet is the key to a successful partnership between the veterinarian, the pet, and the pet parent. I feel that the open door framework of Petcoach allows pet owners to ask more in depth questions regarding their pets’ health and well-being that wouldn't normally come up in conversation with their regular veterinarian. Also, I find that being able to work from my home allows me to answer their questions thoroughly, and by doing so I’m directly impacting the health and well-being of pets all over the world. I have been a veterinarian in small animal medicine and exotics medicine for 4 years now and in 4 different states, including Hawaii, Connecticut, South Carolina and North Carolina. This array of settings has given me a level of expertise and confidence in my field that I can share with pet parents here on PetCoach in order to provide the very best care recommendations for their pets. I’m a pet parent just like most everyone else in the PetCoach community! I have four cats - Caesar, Cleopatra, Mark Antony and Maggie – and a Schnauzer mix named Mannie.*

DR. DAVID ELBEZE, DVM, MRCVSVeterinarian
Just like you, I can’t imagine my life without my beloved pets. I have three rescue cats (Yoga, Tigris, and Pupi), and although they sometimes wake me up before I’m ready, I still love them completely and unconditionally! Prior to veterinary school, I studied Chinese medicine for four years. After that I obtained my veterinary medicine degree at the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Slovakia. Since then I have been travelling around the world quite a lot, also working as a veterinarian in many different countries, including Hong Kong, the Cook Islands, and Grenada, mainly for charity organizations. As long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a veterinarian. There is nothing more satisfying than being able to help an animal that is not himself and can’t explain what’s wrong with him. I think the veterinarian and the pet parent are partners in this endeavor. Working together, you and I will find a way to help yourdear ones.
While I usually like to describe myself as a generalist, I have a lot of specific areas of interest within veterinary medicine. I tend to look at the body as a whole; this is one of the principles that I kept from my years as a Chinese medicine practitioner. In my practice I repeatedly find that symptoms that may not seem connected are. This helps me get to the root cause of the problem rather than just treatthe symptoms.
I’ve been a veterinarian for 8 years, and I’ve done everything from volunteering in third world countries to opening a modern and successful vet clinic in the UK. I’ve helped many different species of pets, and even worked in an exotic animal hospital for three years. I also have a lot of experience giving advice remotely, and I’m sure I’ll be able to shed some light on your concerns. I genuinely look forward to getting to know you and your pet, and helping you care for him or her in the best way possible.*

DR. SARAH SMITH, BSC (HONS) BVM&S MRCVSVeterinarian
After obtaining an honors degree in animal science from the University of Nottingham, UK, I went on to achieve my degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. During veterinary school I completed an externship at a small animal practice in Arizona, and afterwards passed the North American Veterinary Licensing Exam (NAVLE) and obtained my Arizona veterinarylicense.
Working in the UK, USA and the Middle East, I’ve gained experience across a very wide range of species. In addition to my veterinary interests I am a keen runner, an aspiring artist and a mother to a beautiful daughter and also to three dogs, all rescues. Rosie is a crossbreed with the biggest ears possible; she had a rough start to life, but she's loyal beyond measure and the smartest of the group, being able to perform a whole host of tricks much to my daughter’s delight! Cheddars is a Shih Tzu mix and he is the naughtiest of the three. There is nothing he won't eat, and he has had two surgeries to prove it following ingestion of a bath mat and a credit card. Deefa, a Saluki mix, is the newest addition to our pack, and the baby of thegroup.
What I like most about working on Pet Coach is knowing that I can help anyone, anytime, anywhere! There's no limit. I also like that the veterinarians all have such different backgrounds that there is such a large pool of knowledge, making it a great and convenient resource for pet owners worldwide.*

I moved to United Kingdom to further my educational training, and I completed advanced training in small animal medicine and surgery and in neurology and neurosurgery. In addition, I have I have recently completed the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon’s Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice with a special interest in internal medicine and emergency and critical care. I currently work at several veterinary practices and emergency and critical care services in the Cambridge and London areas. For me, being in direct contact with clients and having the chance to help pet owners everyday is an absolute professional joy! I like answering challenging questions and being in contact with pet owners from all around the world. When I’m not working I love spending time with my big black rescue cat, Pele.*

DR. JENNIFER SUMMERFIELD, DVM CPDT-KA Veterinarian & Certified Dog Trainer After graduating from veterinary school at The Ohio State University in 2011, I moved back home to West Virginia to join a small mixed-animal practice. Our veterinary clinic is a general practice serving dogs, cats, and occasionally other species including horses, goats, and cattle. In the clinic, I do a little bit of everything including wellness exams, new puppy and kitten visits, surgery, sick or injured pets, and emergency visits as needed. I also have a special interest in behavior and do house call consultations for problems including aggression, separation anxiety, house-training problems, and compulsive behavior issues. I get immense professional and personal satisfaction when I’m able to help an owner and their pet work through these problems, ultimately improving the bond between the two. Our veterinary practice also includes a dog training facility, where I teach obedience and agility classes, as well as private lessons for dogs with more specific training issues. My three Shelties (Remy, Gatsby, and Clint) compete actively in lots of dog sports including AKC obedience, rally, agility and conformation. I am also a member of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) and an approved Canine Good Citizen evaluator for the American Kennel Club. On PetCoach I get to interact with a variety of different from all over the world. It's very rewarding to be able to help someone who may not have a veterinarian available to talk to at that moment.*
