Joined Dec 27, 2010. ·. 1 Posts. #2 · Aug 28, 2013. Hi Birdsall. I had this happen to my truck last year and it turned out to be the encoder motor as well as the transfer case control module. Both went south in a week or so. It started as the 4x4 light flashing and the6.0 SURGING
My 6.0 is having an intermittent issue. It runs great, but sometimes it will start to surge bad when I return it to an idle. RPM gauge wont move, but it surges. I had the injectors tested to rule them out they are fine. Has a new EBP sensor. The only thing I've found is a holerusted in the
MAP SENSOR TESTING INFO 1#. Connect the voltmeter to the MAP sensor by connecting the black lead to a good ground and connecting the red lead to the center of the three wires in the MAP sensor's electrical connector. 2#. Turn the ignition key on with the engine off. The voltage displayed on the voltmeter should be between 4.5 to 5 volts. 3#. 6.0 BLOWING BLACK SMOKE!!! HELP!!! Discussion Starter · #1 · May 14, 2012. When my buddy and i first got to Korea, we had a 6.0L in the shop for a year that the previous crew couldnt figure out why it wouldnt start. Within a day we narrowed it down to the HPOP. Ok I'm going to post this on the excursion board as well, I've done all I can do to find information on spring coeds for super duties as I'm swapping the anemic stock springs on my 2000 EX 7.3 4x4 with a DG spring code, which I can't find for an ex.I acquired some springs from a guy that came off of a 2004 F350 4x4 SRW the door tag says spring code is VY I can find info on the v codes all day ENGINE SWAP 6.7 INTO 6.4 BODY Joined Jan 26, 2009. ·. 1,309 Posts. #3 · Jul 10, 2011. I think the 6.7 has a bright future ahead of it, but the 6.4 can be made bullet proof. I would look into the egr delete and ect that make that engine live longer and stronger before a swap. That being said, A/C CLUTCH NOT TURNING ON. A/C stopped working and I checked the fuses - OK. I even tested voltage to the connector at the pass. side and was getting power when the switch was turned to A/C or Max A/C. I didn't get power to the end that plugs into the clutch. Opened up the wire harness and it looks like an inline fuse or HOW DO YOU BLEED THE HYDRAULIC LINES ON A 1999 F250 Now push the piston in and out with your hand 5 or 6 times. Replace in the tranny, this is very important. If you push clutch in without the slave in the tranny, the pushrod will break the "tie". After that's done, check fluid level to make sure there is some in the resevoir. Now push the clutch through full range of motion 20-30 times. 7.3 ICP OR IPR BAD?? HOW TO DIAGNOSE-NEED TO FIX TODAY!! Sounds like the IPR, unplugging the ICP does not put it into default mode, it just tells the pcm there is erratic data and the pcm will just put a set reading to it. It is most definitely your GEM. Get the water leak fixed and if your lucky the GEM will dry out and you will be fine. GEM's are getting hard to find so dont wait around. The last one I bought about 3 years ago was around $375. But i was wondering what specs the rear alignment should be at, my printout read the following for the rear: RL RR. -0.1 camber -0.6. 0.17 toe -0.28. cross camber 0.5. MAP SENSOR TESTING INFO 1#. That being said, WHAT COOLANT TO USE IN 6.0? Put in 3/4 to 1 gallon of Restore an top with distilled water. Drive it for an 60-90 minutes then drain. Flush 2 times with distilled water or whatever it takes to come clear. Put 2 qts of VC-9 or 3/4 to 1 gallon of Restore+ cost less and fill with distilled water. Drive it for about 60-90 minutes. Seconds, minutes or days. On these mirror caps I did prep them, wiped them down with Alcohol and a lint free rag, then used 320 grit sand paper to knock down the chrome finish but to much to where it would put grooves into it using a lower grit, cleaned them again with alcohol and lint free rag then put 4 coats of black and 5 coats of clear as I wanted the most EGR DELETE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT Joined Nov 7, 2010. ·. 33,055 Posts. #3 · Feb 2, 2012. it's p0401 you have an extra 0. and yes it's EGR flow code due to a sneaky delete (they leave the valve in place but block the flow with a plug upstream) but it's most likely just a bad EGR valve. if it has a sneaky delete whomever you bought the truck from probably removed atuner that

Ok I'm going to post this on the excursion board as well, I've done all I can do to find information on spring coeds for super duties as I'm swapping the anemic stock springs on my 2000 EX 7.3 4x4 with a DG spring code, which I can't find for an ex.I acquired some springs from a guy that came off of a 2004 F350 4x4 SRW the door tag says spring code is VY I can find info on the v codes all day TRUCK WON'T TURN OFF 450 Posts. #9 · Mar 7, 2014. It is most definitely your GEM. Get the water leak fixed and if your lucky the GEM will dry out and you will be fine. GEM's are getting hard to find so dont wait around. I even tested voltage to the connector at the pass. side and was getting power when the switch was turned to A/C or Max A/C. I didn't get power to the end that plugs into the clutch. Opened up the wire harness and it looks like an inline fuse or ALIGNMENT SPECS AND RECOMMENDATIONS The front steering tracks good, just have those little corrections as I am driving, probably due to the steering box or steering shaft. But i was wondering what specs the rear alignment should be at, my printout read the following for the rear: RL RR. -0.1 camber -0.6. 0.17 toe -0.28. cross camber 0.5. MAP SENSOR TESTING INFO 1#. Connect the voltmeter to the MAP sensor by connecting the black lead to a good ground and connecting the red lead to the center of the three wires in the MAP sensor's electrical connector. 2#. Turn the ignition key on with the engine off. The voltage displayed on the voltmeter should be between 4.5 to 5 volts. 3#.4X4 LIGHT FLASHING

I think the 6.7 has a bright future ahead of it, but the 6.4 can be made bullet proof. I would look into the egr delete and ect that make that engine live longer and stronger before a swap. That being said, WHAT COOLANT TO USE IN 6.0? Put in 3/4 to 1 gallon of Restore an top with distilled water. Drive it for an 60-90 minutes then drain. Flush 2 times with distilled water or whatever it takes to come clear. Put 2 qts of VC-9 or 3/4 to 1 gallon of Restore+ cost less and fill with distilled water. Drive it for about 60-90 minutes.
