4K HD AND 4K 16:9 DIFFERENCE 4K: 4096x2160 (a.k.a. 2160p) Aspect Ratio: 1.9:1 Used in cinema. 4K HD: 3840x2160 (a.k.a. Quad HD) Aspect Ratio: 16/9 (1.78:1) Used when the delivery format will be 1080p. 4K HD (QHD) is exactly four times larger than 1080p, so it resizes proportionally down to 1920x1080. ZEISS OTUS VS MASTER PRIME 09-29-2014, 12:07 PM. I did side by sides of the MPs and Otus 55 and Sigma Art 35/50, and previously shot and did tests with the Summilux-c. As a result, I bought a set of Master Primes. Summilux-c have much less CA, but corner sharpness goes to the MPs in my tests. PROGRAM WINDOW HAS 1/8 GRAYED OUT... Unfortunately I'm on vacation and have to edit while here. I only have a 13" Macbook Pro and I'm finding it difficult to work with (obviously). I'm just curious, however, if it's possible to toggle the Program Window to 1/8. Right now I'm stuck at 1/4 and can't make the change (1/8 and 1/16 are grayed out). In the Preview window I can select 1/8 and it runs very smooth. PROPER WAY TO RAMP FOOTAGE FROM 120FPS TO 24FPS? Hey everyone, I recently shot my friend wakeboarding at 120fps in 4k. The final project will be a mix of red footage, go pros and dlsr's. All the other cameras were recorded in 24fps. I'm wondering is there a "proper" way to play my 120fps footage at normal real-life speed then slow it back down to its original 120 fps slowmotion on the same clip? USB-C TO HDMI/SDI HOW? I can't find on Apple or Blackmagic's website a cable or box that I can plug into my USB-C connection on my iMac 2017 so as to output HDMI or SDI to a broadcast monitor. Can someone suggest a device that will do this job? Blackmagic used to make a thunderbolt to SDI min box I used on my previous machine but can't find the equivalent for USB-C.BEACHTEK DXA-RED

I am setting up my timeline for 2k 2048x1156 (pixel aspect ratio Cinemascope). Is this the correct aspect for a film shot mostly in the 5120x2160. This was not shot with anamorphic lenses. But it's only 18.9mm tall. Gemini is almost 31mm wide, and 18mm tall. BLACKMAGIC POCKET CINEMA CAMERA 4K (CROP FACTOR) The crop factor is a mystery. It seems like the sensor is going to be just a smidge larger than the previous camera so the websites say "a reduced crop factor for a wider field of view." The original BMPCC is considered "slightly wide" meaning most zooms are 35 to 49mm wide which isn't great for indoor use. Anyone know the exact crop factor of the new 4k pocket camera? ACTUAL DESQUEEZE RESOLUTION IN ANAMORPHIC Then trim out your 2.40:1 aspect ratio image from that, which ends up as 6912x2880 that can then be scaled down to your 4K DCI or 4K UHD container. Just to stir the pot a bit more, I often prefer to shoot 6K 6:5 for anamorphic which is 3792x3160. However, 6:5 actually unsqueezes to 2.40:1 from the get go using 2X anamorphic glass. That slight variance in height means when they shoot HD aspect ratio, they end up being quite similar when Gemini shoots "open gate/full sensor". GEMINI OPEN GATE cropped to HD: 30.7mm x 17.2mm. KOMODO REDCODE RAW EXPLAINED Hello there humans and occasion spam bots, Lots of chatter surrounding Komodo and how REDCODE RAW works, wanted to make a dedicated thread rapping about it. Today I'll put on my RED Whisperer hat and drop some light nerdy stuff in here, but will keep it wrangled to simple concepts, and I'll spice things up with my personal perspective. ZEISS OTUS VS MASTER PRIME 09-29-2014, 12:07 PM. I did side by sides of the MPs and Otus 55 and Sigma Art 35/50, and previously shot and did tests with the Summilux-c. As a result, I bought a set of Master Primes. Summilux-c have much less CA, but corner sharpness goes to the MPs in my tests. TOUCHSCREEN LOCKED, ANY WAY TO UNLOCK BESIDES THE ICON? Posts. 3,768. 03-29-2012, 07:48 PM. This has happened to me a couple of times. Once I was able to get it to unlock using the screen, other times I ended up reinstalling the firmware as it was faster than messing with it any longer! #3. Tony Rudenko. RED MAG NOT MOUNTING TO COMPUTER I have a 128gb card that I can't get to mount to the computer. My camera sees it fine and can record and playback clips in camera. But the redmag station does not recognize it at all. I am using the redmag mini usb 3.0 version. I also have a 64gb card that works just fine with the red station. But the red light won't even turn on when inserting the 128gb card. The only way you can split this signal, without really horrible reflections and return loss, is with an impedance-specific splitter. USB-C TO HDMI/SDI HOW? BLACKMAGIC POCKET CINEMA CAMERA 4K (CROP FACTOR) The crop factor is a mystery. It seems like the sensor is going to be just a smidge larger than the previous camera so the websites say "a reduced crop factor for a wider field of view." The original BMPCC is considered "slightly wide" meaning most zooms are 35 to 49mm wide which isn't great for indoor use. Anyone know the exact crop factor of the new 4k pocket camera? Hey everyone, I recently shot my friend wakeboarding at 120fps in 4k. The final project will be a mix of red footage, go pros and dlsr's. All the other cameras were recorded in 24fps. I'm wondering is there a "proper" way to play my 120fps footage at normal real-life speed then slow it back down to its original 120 fps slowmotion on the same clip?
